1.
Wouldn't it be easier to buy the ticket in the UK now she's living there?
Yes that certainly would be easier but that's not what i'm asking. [:P]
 2. My mother has recently returned to the UK after over a decade living in France. She is a British national and was a French resident for 5 years but is no longer and she no longer owns property in France. She does have an active current account with Banque Populaire.   A few years ago she signed up for an online account with fdj.fr (the French lottery operator) that she would fund from the BP account. She played both the euromillions and the french LOTO. Since moving back the UK she has stopped playing the domestic French LOTO but she contiunes to credit her account to buy the occasional ticket for the Euromillions draw. It is my understanding that if you are a UK resident and you go on holiday to France for example and buy a Euromillions ticket and win then you can claim it, in Euros in France. You may have to travel back there if you realise you have won when you get back to the UK for some reason. Anyway, i'm not sure that she is allowed to play the euromillions via fdj.fr as she is no longer a French resident. I can see her having trouble claiming a large prize due to a technicality. I have tried to decipher the rules that I downloaded from the fdj website but my French isn't very good at all so i'm none the wiser. It would be strange if you could legally claim a physical ticket that you bought in France but were denied if you won while playing via website because the website is for French residents only - but as you all know there are a lot of strange rules in France! So can anyone with knowledge on this subject kindly offer any answers?
