  1. Hi there, Thanks for the replies, are the English owned ones near me? (Carcassonne)? I had a look and couldn't seem to find any. Vets is a good idea, I shall pop in tomorrow. Thanks Catalpa, I saw this place on the internet this morning whilst looking for a solution - I'll give them a call tomorrow. Really need to do something pretty swiftly. Makes me feel bad, I don't want to have to move them, but what can you do? Mum trusts me now, she used to hiss like hell whenever I went near her, but now she thinks I'm ok near her kittens (bringing food helps!). I'm currently on a guilt trip about the whole thing as me and my partner both love cats... its just not going to work. Our current cats are not happy with the invasion, everyone is seperate to stop any aggression.
  2. Hi all, Need some help! So we found a mother and 4 kittens - mother is dark grey (all over) and we have 3 silver tabbies and one black one. All very beautiful, but sadly we can't keep them (they are currently living in our garage). Ideally we don't want to split them, so um... any ideas? SPR maybe an option, but I don't want them killed after 8 days (which I gather is what happens). We would keep them if we could, but we just can't - we have two adult cats already. Any suggestions, help or if anyone wants them - please get in touch! Photo's are no problem Many thanks!
  3. I did try earplugs once, but I couldn't get on with the muted sound of the engine. I've been to too many rock concerts, so I'm kinda deaf anyway!
  4. I'm definately not doing the right thing Sid! I know we should change them over but local police have never bothered saying anything, French insurance firm doesn't mind at all (mind you, I've never put a claim in!), never had any hassle... so we figured: Leave them on! And yes, the gendarmes are very bike friendly - and car drivers here make a huge effort to pull over for you... it's much better than riding in the UK. Although I do miss the Sunday afternoons chatting with fellow bikers at Stratford-upon-avon :)
  5. Heha, yes I spotted that after I took the photo.. there is a 1948 date written on it, I guess the 1970 stamp is last calibration/check/installation...who knows? but yep, it's outta date, that's fer sure! :) So with 9kva, you can use most of your appliances at once without any problem? If I'm on 3kva, ...does that mean we'll have 3x the amount of electricity before it decides it wants to plunge us into darkness? Why didn't they let you change it?! Chancer, could you tell us how much an upgrade to 60 amp would be? Thanks!
  6. That's exactly right - I shall remain sticker free :) It's these kinds of stupid laws that really irritate me,..hence why I ignore them completely. It's like the high-viz jacket thing? If drivers can't see or hear the motorcycle/rider with the headlight on in the first place, a high-viz jacket is going to make zero difference. I think if you ride and drive, you're WAY more aware of bikers than people who have never been on a bike. Whoo.. I'm ranting :D

  8. Hello! Yes we are indeed on 03 KVA, just checked the bill. As for the meter itself I just looked at it, it's from 1948 and says 10-30 amps!?!
  9. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it. I'll check tomorrow and find out which one we're on. Cheers! M
  10. I think that's EXCELLENT.. lovely DOF and lighting. Nicely done.
  11. sorry, my bad.. I meant upgrade the meter, not the fusebox.
  12. Yup, had the whole house rewired 5 years ago,.. but it's still running through the old meter. Our electrician put in a fusebox that looks like it came out of the USS Enterprise. He told us at the time to upgrade but we never got around to it.. but we need to now. There is too much computer equipment running all the time and we need more juice. Washing machine + Iron = cut out (and a very cross me if I haven't saved my work)
  13. Everyone here thinks we're Welsh, and that changes...well, pretty much everything. Hereford (where I was born) is a border town, so if it's close enough for them, it's close enough for me. "They're not English" normally follows an introduction in our village to someone we haven't met before..! Anyways, same here, no way are any stickers going on my Arai lid. All our bikes are on UK plates, don't care what anyone says, they've been that way *for a while* and they're staying that way!
  14. New here, so hello to everyone :) We're sick of our electricity cutting out when we overload it by outrageously using the oven and the toaster at the same time :) Therefore, it's safe to say we're on the lowest possible power supply. If we were to upgrade our supply/fusebox(?) via EDF, does anyone know how much this is likely to cost? Many thanks! Matt.
