Had a very good official meeting this morning with a french person.He was really pleased that we tried to use french to speak to him - he was good in english but said that he was pissed off (our translation) about the number of German.Dutch etc who just would not try.He was very amused when I introduced the google translate app on the mobile phone. Twice now it has proven useful and indeed a useful topic of conversation .Perhaps the only useful thing gained from that "royal" person. Perhaps "linguists" can learn "scientific", etc things in their old age.

The definition of cretin has unfortunately changed in urban use - unfortunately somewhat prevalent on this forum. Especially by supposed "linguists" who think that they are clever.A cretin is a person who has failed to develop due to congenital hypothyroidism. A medical condition that is now very easy to treat.Period.

Knowing my own daughter I would first be asking what the hell was she doing when the fire happened. Secondly why the fire happened and was there any other factors.Doubt if religion or any pseudo academic singer with business backing had any influence.If she is ok then no problem IMHO.

An interesting dilemma on which a sociologist probably has written a book on.For my tuppence worth to explain the findings: say one takes an average manager who probably has more spending power and hence more material things than the average other worker. Then the finding can be explained by the fact that it could be "easier" for the managers to go for the environment option rather than the poorer other workers eg they can forego the car for public transport whereas the other group already uses public transport or must walks.But yes, its all down to material greed in the end with financial models calling for more and more, year on year. Perhaps brother WB feels his lifestyle is environment friendly enough so ....

Its very much the exception rather than the rule for district nurse visits especially with hard pressed services.I'm on statins and asprin atm. and I will be hopefully for some time.
