  1. Ok, I agree with the state spending in France, but likewise think it should be increased by more than that in the UK.

Yes, indeed, one does have to live somewhere, but I suspect that paying the rent to a private landlord for an equivalent property would be much higher than bills for living in your own place.

  2. Onwards and upwards?

If neither upsizing or downsizing, then by just sitting on your estate if it is in a house in Paris or London then your capital is increasing at a larger rate than if it were in held in cash or in another part of either country.

So why not equalise a bit - it might attract companies and people out of the capitals.

In terms of investments going up or down, then that is pretty obvious, but the whole economic system is predicated on continual expansion. Why one might ask?

  3. From this post and your pm -

Why are your so against social positions/views. Also so peeed off by being so inconvenienced?

In your own words you have seen at first hand the results of the obscene violence towards Palestinians in the occupied Palestine. yet you feel that it is a waste of time to complain because Trump and Netanyahu are rampant in the Middle East at the moment.

I think that your view is pathetic for not saying what you have see or indeed you do not defend the oppressed.

My OH has seen "settlers" pouring burnng battery acid oil over Palestinians in Hebron and IDF soldiers (Defence?) doing nothing and infact saying to my OH rather nasty threatening things if she said anything further. Same happens on the internet, Period.

Please dont delete this post - share if you feel it is going to get some improved life for the oppressed. Don't share if its going to lead to the usual cry of antisemitism. Israel is ...../.... IMHO.

Really I am totally frustrated. If I was a a Palestinian and subjected to what is going on there then ...........

NB I am white and English by race apparently.

NB please note that independent observers in Hebron are being removed by Israel- easy to guess why.

NB2 - The First post-brexit deal apparently has been agreed with Israel - goodness and Saudi is next. Bril l!!!

  4. Can the BBC avoid being biased. Who appointed the BBC intelligentsia.

IMHO the BBC is totally biased for the benefit of the (far) right. Looking at "this week" ATM - goodness!

OK lots will disagree but, hey, looking at guests and chair people on discussion programs there is a bias towards the right. Who is appointing the people running the Show? Question Time with Fiona Bruces comments before the show and subsequent denials is pretty obvious!!!

More to worry about: 16 million people will not get what they wanted and a (large) proportion of the 17 million who wanted to leave will disagree with the mode of exit.

    Wow!!

When TM says that racism is supposedly more now only because she improved recording when she was Home Secretary really says it all.

    Grrrr

  5. ?

    How bizarre!

    Sweet 17 is mint!!

I've got my own teeth too. Though one of my colleagues (chief technician at the time) was rather pi@@ed off when she found a false tooth in my desk draw when I asked her to find something in the office. That was when I was 40 and I gave up using the dentures then.Still have a gap there!!

In terms of French then fine - why not call yourself hazelnut on an english forum.

Is my example not correct? I actually am trying to learn and have not had the advantage of being into France from an early age.

Contrary to your belief I actually admire people who immerse themselves into another country (if that is what you have done). I was trying to be complimentary to you.

    NB sod the sexism!!!

  6. Using google for subjunctive in english:

I insist that he is here (indicative, a forceful assertion of the fact that he is here)

I insist that he be here (subjunctive, a demand that the condition of his being here be fulfilled)

So in your example its the former of these two - Yes?

Interesting that Norm goes French to English - have you noticed a difference?

Not sure if there is a problem with my computer.
