  1. I''m afraid the true ( anglican dad?) blood of Nelson got spilt there whilst he was managing the clash.

All managers of the british teams (four now) are not british.

Mmmmm - isnt the story of the UK a bit like the US - taken over by immigrants some years ago.

    Not many "true" brits left!!!

Even the royals had to change their names relatively recently.

Anyway - just watch Port Vale go with their new owners.

  2. I am no expert but we have a similar problem in the UK. I merely rebuilt the wall interlocking the stones with it sloping gently backwards. Mesh may well help.

I would not attempt to point it as would mean possible water build up behind the wall.

    This may help a little.

  3. How bizarre - where on this thread does it refer to Hitler until the mention of the so-called Godwin law.

There are lots of examples of fascists.

  4. Guardian -centre left but shifted centrist recently

    Independent - liberal.

    Le Monde ?

    Me - ? but not racist/fascist.

Anthos ??? But google isn't exactly left wing is it.

If that is what you are referring to.

Corbyn has only recently had any power - before that he had very little to control so please don't drag old stuff up too much.

The comment of be more cynical in what you read still stands.

  5. I don't think Corbyn is right wing or Fascist.

    Do you?

I'd be interested to know what left wing main papers or media you read - there aren't many. Even if you do profess to, then I suspect many don't.

  6. Before you jump to vote for him just read this with some sort of neutral eye.

Just look at his early years and the fascist ideology. And even what he has done after - what a privileged a**.... .

I'm afraid his rhetoric is in keeping with Trump, Bibi and the rest (including supposed christian Maggie May) of the Western world even though Israel is actually in the Middle East.

Perhaps reading wider than the Daily Mail/ BBC Telegraph/Times will be a good start (eg WB). Keep an open mind.

OK Idun - I know you think I am prickly but I just don't know where to start with your world view of the Palestine issue.

  7. Can you not see that the word civilian is somewhat pointed and the implication is that those in Gaza are not.

Trump together with the extremist Israeli government and the three biased people writing the"peace plan" are the powerbrokers.

Ideally I would wish to see no apartheid there.
  8. Well there you go - BBC media bias this evening.

Newsreader says in the same breath 12 Palestinians killed and 3 Israeli civilians dead. Very subtle.
  9. “Any fool can turn a blind eye but who knows what the ostrich sees in the sand.” “If you turn a blind eye to the world now, history will turn a blind eye to you later. Ignoring an issue makes you a tacit supporter of it.”
  10. The expression on the mothers face really shows true grief in one of these photos.

So many underprivileged families undergo this daily due to various forms of hatred but its never shown in the media - just a daily occurrence or another statistic justified by others defending or promoting their causes.

  11. Perhaps you should go "au naturel" and see what happens for a year or two.

Lots of our experiments in the Dordogneshire climate have gone wrong - including olives lovingly cared for by ourselves. Horses for courses springs to mind.

The insects aren't perhaps being attracted by location/neighbours by any chance?
