There are so many people mixing and matching and think they are road legal when in fact they are not. Of course they get away with it because its such a complex issue and few policemen know the exact details.It does annoy me how many UK registered cars I see that have French documents in the window and the owners think all is OK. Of course it all goes tits up when they are involved in an accident.Have never understood the attraction of using a RHD car over here anyway.

Now that's odd and could be the difference between monthly and tri-monthly declaration. For trimester 3 [ends 30th September] I have until 31st October to make my declaration [I am doing it this evening] We have set up for what is owed to be taken direct from my bank. That won't be done until 31 days after i.e. on or around 1st December. Two months after the end of each trimester. Have been an AE since it started and that's they way they have treated me.

Not sure they send reminders for internet declarations. If your trimesters end March, June September and December, then you have the whole of October to make your declaration for trimester 3. So you can do it now. I think if you read the gumf they sent you, you have UNTIL 31 October to make your declaration. This has reminded me to do mine tonight.

I would be surprised if the mirrors are counted in the measurement. The critical factor for most breakdown companies is the gross weight and wheel base of the vehicle, i.e. will it fit on a recovery truck.

Have just read this thread from the beginning and wonder why people get themselves into such a downward spiral. We had a horrendous head on crash on Christmas Eve 2009 while on holiday in the UK in our AXA insured French car.The first thing to note, other than a few scratches, we both walked away from the car. Regardless of what was to follow that was THE most important thing.The upshot was that AXA were superb. The car was a complete write off and so the rest of its days were spent in a UK scrap yard.AXA arranged for a taxi to Gatwick Airport, paid our flights home, a taxi at Bordeaux, a hire car for two weeks and paid out the Argus value of our car. I presume this was all claimed from the other party insurers as the accident was their fault.Looking back, we never think about what could have happened, we think positive about what did happen. We both walked away unscathed.Think positive, you are a long time dead.

Jerry you haven't mentioned what type of filter you have. If its a sand type then what you have done is fine. However if its a paper cartridge type it will be very clogged up by now and will need a new cartridge.

I run my pump and therefore filter [sand type] for one hour a day every day over winter on my salt water pool [10x5]. Was advised to do this by the installer. Never ever had a green pool in 7 years nor a freeze up but I guess the salt helps with that.

Most cards [including UK cards] work on the more modern pumps at supermarkets these days.

Many thanks. Have sent them an email. I didn't think this bit of the organisation of the wedding was going to be that difficult. The French bit and the use of the local church has been a breeze.

Depends on the cover but most summer covers if left on will add heat during the day and keep heat in overnight. Just roll back when you want to use it.

Put another way the batteries have a limited working life which seems to be about 18 months. They are hugely expensive to buy often more than the cost of a new bike which does contribute to many of the bikes being for sale at low prices.

Before we moved to France we ran a large ink cartridge mail order company so from experience, the cheapest printers to run are Canon and the dearest is Lexmark. Compatible cartridges are great for Epson and Canon printers as they are new copies of the original. Compatible cartridges for HP, Lexmark, Dell etc are in fact reconditioned/refilled cartridges and as such are prone to failure.

Looking for a C of E /Anglican service. Permission has been obtained for the use of the local church. Difficulty with Chaplaincy of PC is that they want two meetings with the bride and groom in advance. Arranging one is difficult as the bride and groom don't live here and like most young couples have busy lives.There must be a retired clergyman who would like to do this. Expenses and a good day out guaranteed. Accommodation is available too.

The wedding is already booked at the Mairie, this is for the blessing in the church which we also have permission to use. The rent-a-rev is UK based so not a lot of use. The church in france have stipulated a whole load of criteria some of which we cannot achieve.There must be a retired clergyman/ woman who would like to see a couple on the happy road of life.

Have booked our local church in South of Department 17 for my sons wedding blessing next June. I now need a clergyman / woman who would undertake the service without making us jump though hoops. My son doesn't live in France so arranging meetings in advance is not easy.
