  1. My daughter wants to come out for a visit, Eurotunnel have said I can redeem my points for her travel, I have a feeling that Jobsworth at the check in might contest the booking. Has anyone else 'gifted' their redeemed points for a trip and was there any hassle, I could let her have my membership card whihc you normally have to produce at checking in, as I shant need it until my return in October. Thanks Elaine
  2. There is Rose Gore www.parlezvite.com who operates out of Mohon quite a way north of Ploermel (she puts her leaflets on brit reg cars parked in the bricomarche) or else call into the Cultural Office in PLoermel theyve got stacks of information elaine
  3. We are re-locating to France in July and amongst other things I will miss are my visits to Borders (and Books.) I was wondering how much demand is there in the Ploermel area for a Book Club/Reading Group. I have visited the Office Culturale and have details to join the Club de Lecture that meets in Ploermel, but I was thinking more on the lines of a bi-lingual or English book-club. We probably would not meet until September once all our summer visitors have gone home, although we could start reading our first book during the summer months to get started. Alternatively we could follow the Radio 4 book club reading list. There are many resources to download reading notes from publishers web sites to help us, so how many Ploermelaise out there that may be interested. I shall probably ask the bookshop that sells a few English books to put a notice up as well. Hope to hear from fellow book-worms soon. Elaine

  5. hi My husband has been building a lovely bonfire which he would like to set alight when we get out there at Easter but something tells me he's missed the deadline for bonfires. Does anyone know the rules, I realise different regions/departments probably have different rules, but I know its something along the lines of not after the last Sunday in March until Sept or Oct?? Its a shame as we are going to have this mountain of an eyesore at least its hidden behind our hedge in the field. Thanks anyone Elaine
