[/quote] If you can prove your ancestry back to two consecutive generations of french, born in France (no matter how long ago), and you have enough "assimilation" to French culture, there's indeed a combination of certain articles of the French civil code through which, if you are within the "window" provided by those articles, you could eventually claim to be reintegrated to French nationality.
