I won't disable mine. What are the police going to do, stop me for not speeding? As said by another poster earlier, I also drive by enlarge to or below the speed limit but occasionally speed can drift a touch, it's nice to have a bit of a back up just in case.Simple answer is yo obey the speed limits.

I have always been astounded at some of the countries being allowed to join the EZ. I mean shackling Bulgaria to Germany and expecting them to be able to keep up. It's like tying my fat ancle to Ben Johnson's and expecting us not to run round in circles. Why were there so many countries wanting to join or were the EZ member so keen to get others on board?

Hans, a middle-aged German tourist on his first visit to Orlando, Florida, finds the red light district and enters a large brothel. The madam asks him to be seated and sends over a young lady to entertain him. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she gasps and runs away! Seeing this, the madam sends over a more experienced lady to entertain the gentleman. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear, and she too screams, "No!" and walks quickly away. The madam is surprised that this ordinary looking man has asked for something so outrageous that her two girls will have nothing to do with him. She decides that only her most experienced lady, Lola, will do. Lola has never said no, and it's not likely anything would surprise her. So the madam sends her over to Hans. They sit and talk, frolic a little, giggle a bit, drink a bit, and she sits on his lap. He whispers in her ear and she screams, "NO WAY, BUDDY!" and smacks him as hard as she can and leaves.Madam is by now absolutely intrigued, having seen nothing like this in all her years of operating a brothel. She hasn't done the bedroom work herself for a long time, but she's sure she has said yes to everything a man could possibly ask for. She just has to find out what this man wants that has made her girls so angry. Besides she sees a chance to teach her employees a lesson. So she goes over to Hans and says that she's the best in the house and is available. She sits and talks with him. They frolic, giggle, drink and then she sits in his lap.Hans leans forwards and whispers in her ear, "Can I pay in Euros?"

My TV's only about 2 years old and as such is about 4 years out of date lol. We have a Barco CRT projector strapped to the ceiling for watching films and gaming on, the Kinnect is awesome fun on it. Funny really, when exactly did I get left behind by technology? I used to be the man to program friends and family's vcr's, now I have trouble getting the cooker to work.

I have no idea how to but to be honest the way I have everything setup now with a 2tb hard drive works great. Nero Showtime will play anything you throw at it[8-|].

I have an X-box and a PS3, the PS3 wipes the floor with the X-box for watching films, in fact that's all it's used for. My X-box refuses to read some DVD's I create my self but the PS3 reads them with no problem. I watch TV via my PC using the VGA cable and a splitter so I don't have to swap and change cables. You can get HDMI graphics cards really cheap now if you want to go down that route, this might be my next purchase.DVD Fab 8 is the newest version I have and it will rip Bluray, compress from DV9 to DV5 it does the lot but you have to buy it for anything more than the ripper and it's about £70 if I recall.

Is the flooring true engineered as in MDF or is it factory finished planks? If it's planks then remember the wood will expand across it's grain and it is best, despite some esthetically pleasing ideas to run the planks length ways with the longest length. I had flooring fitted in the UK a few years ago, when I was too busy to diy and the fitter did it the way you are supposed to. The planks side on in a 25 foot run. The result was a back door casing that got pushed out by 10mm.Also, remember no mater what flooring you are using let it aclimatise fully for a few weeks out of it's packaging. We replaced some floor boards here that have shrunk 5mm infront of the fire.[:@] My fault, I should have waited till winter :-(

If you know what to get and where to get it most things can be bought here for similar money. All except paint, buy decent quality UK paint and bring it with you. I have not had any problems with French paint but it is expensive, I paid €32 (ish) for a 2.5L tub of white emulsion for bathrooms.

That's a great start. Thanks Pickles.Any idea on how the costs compare to the UK. I know, it will depend on the area I am in and size of unit amongst a host of other variables, a ball park figure would be great. Our old unit in the UK was about £6k+vat pa for about 600 square foot. How would this compare in France?

I think part of the problem is some peoples lac of understanding. I read a post on Face Book the day it happened condemning the man for "taking the cowards way out". The post was really nasty accusing him of deserting his two children etc etc. I think this attitude is a large part of the problem, men are strong, right? Telling a friend you're on a downer and can't see the point in life? Well what response would you expect, especially from people that slate victims of suicide?

Hello.Any one have any experience renting small industrial units they would care to share. Any thing at all. I am thinking of getting one and have no idea as to cost and terms here in France.Thanks.

So what is the answer? Well I said, almost jokingly, some time back is to default on the loans. If all countries did this then effectively (especially when you consider the chart somebody gave a link to about who owes what to whom) we would all be back to square one and we all both win and loose but everyone should be left with nothing to pay.

Twas me. Here it is again for those that missed it. It looks like we are all in debt but with the exception of a few we are owed as much as we owe.
Really useful easy to use graph of the worlds debts, how much and to whom they owe.

I have been plastering using the Lutece 2000L, it has been my 1st attempt. I am very pleased with the outcome, it finishes with a slightly porous surface unless you polish it like mad but a totally smooth finish can be got if you want to spend a bit more time. I just bought another bag for about €12.00

Just tested it now. With Expat shield on 2000kbps with it off 15000. Kind of conclusive eh?
-
Expat off, I didn't think of testing with it on. Duhhh. The download speed when saving files is very slow, 100-200kbps.

Any one else having trouble downloading/watching BBCi player and other iplayer programs. I can't stream them, it just keeps buffering. If I try doenloading to watch on media player all is good but not all programs are available to download to watch later. I have been using Expat Shield for months now with no problems but the past week it's been almost un-useable. I remember someone posting that Orange were downgrading their connections. I have done an online test of my connection speed and download speed came back as 16320kbps, not bad.

Thanks AO.John, you know what's on my mind. I am surprised you haven't done it yet[I]

I want the trailer to carry under 500kg so it doesn't need a cart grise but what if the trailer comes in at 500kg. I have no idea how heavy the potential chassis will weigh when stripped and by then it will be too late. Is there a limit to what the under 500kg trailer can weigh unladen?Ta
-
So how heavy can a trailer be? Is the limit 750kg inclusive of load and trailer, meaning for a 499kg payload the trailer needs to be sub 251kg? Am I making sense?[8-)]
-
Hi.I am looking for a trailer but having trouble finding the right one. I may have to revert to plan B, build my own. I know of a UK caravan I could butcher for the chassis, how would I go on with this? Any problems you could for see? Thanks.Ian

A quick update.Went to our local tax office and got the quittus fiscal certificate, it took about 10 minutes and the woman was really nice and helpful. A pleasure to deal with. From there we went to Cognac to the sus prefecture. Stood in a queue for about 5 minutes, got seen. Had a bit of trouble getting exactly what we wanted across to the clerk but after the intervention of here colleague she understood and took the paperwork off us. We were told to wait while they prepared our paperwork. 15 minutes later we left with our new registration number. Could easily be done in a morning if you get up early so's to avoid the lunch break. The quittas was free but the cart grise was €165.50. Luckily we got it all done with our UK issued English COC too, that was free from Renault. Thanks for your help and replies people.
