1. 56 Brittany. Meandering through the streets of a pretty town one day four years ago, saw a rather ordinary looking place for sale (not in the market for a holiday home at the time, but hey-ho) viewed it..viewed it again and bought it?!? Met some lovely people - French and English. Moving out soon where we will remain whilst renovating and then..who knows? Why are we moving? The chance to renovate an ordinary looking place and turn it into a lovely house. Living in France is on the bucket list. If we miss the rugby and the sailing too much, we'll move South West and buy a live-aboard!
2. Of course, I keep forgetting that. Thank you, made me feel a whole lot better. Now I must get back to death by packing box...or was it by bubble wrap and sellotape?) Yep - officially losing it,,,,,,,,,
3.
And when SFR goes wrong like it did in the area serviced by Quillan it took a day short of 3 weeks for it to be repaired. Its all the talk at the Boule club and many have moved to Orange. Takes a long time to build up a good reputation and only minutes (or in this case 3 weeks) to loose it.
Ha, I can beat that! Just taken BT nearly 7 weeks to reconnect my landline and internet line. Imagine how handy that was on the run up to emmigration to France!
4. The missing bit above mentioned a male bird...forgot it would mean something else and be void. Sorry all.
5. 'triffic! Moving next week..all packed -  apart from me ol cock linnet, so bit late to change my mind!!!!!!!!
6. it seems to me that you have a very simple choice to make - pay up or don't import Yes, true enough. Just don't like being ripped off. We have to bring the van so we'll have to pay - just sticks in the throat. (I think it is also because the chap at vauxhall was soooo rude on the phone - quite offensive in fact, and I really don't offend easily. But that's another story.)
7. I will have the same problem with our van. We have a Vauxhall Vivaro. It doesn't have the required E at the beginning of the type approval number so I am informed I have to get a COC.  I am being asked to pay 250 Euros for a COC. I thought this was very expensive for a piece of paper, especially as the car COC's have have already sent for were free from the manufacturers.
8. Yes very useful thank you.We are moving to our French property next week and I am trying to book an appointment now, before leaving the UK for our phone/internet to be connected. Hoping to be on line PDQ. I assume I contact the English line as listed in the helpful bits at the top of the forum? Lulu Howie - not far from you on either side of the Channel!
