1.
Your lol betty boop, well..................... Carrefour used to do cash back long before they did in the UK. And then they stopped.  So it is an 'olde' thing in France.
apologies...never seen it before in France...
  2.
??? not sure what you're on about here......especially you JK ! Maybe you're replying to a different thread...?

I guess it's about the fact that I only call one place 'home'. Therefore I don't really understand how anyone can have more than one place they call home at one time.....? is that possible????

No big deal - just a perception issue ......

From your recent posts, it would seem that it is a 'big deal' to you.

You seem to be in the minority on this forum, as other posters have stated that they have two homes and call them both home.

For the record, we have had our french HOME for 10 years, longer than we have lived in our present UK home, but to us they are both home, wwhichever one we happen to be in at the time.

  3. If buying a uk kitchen, wickes ones are really good quality. My son has just fitted a new one and it is very good.

Re the top of wall cupboards, my husband plasterboarded down from the ceiling to the top of the cupboard fronts, no more grotty tops to clean.

I have a gas hob, as said no problem when power cuts happen.

I also have a microwave/convection oven, so handy when its just the two of us - 5 minutes to heat up, 9 mins for partbaked baguette or pizzas etc.

My husband also did perfect worktop joins with no grotty dirt collecting metal strips.
  4. You will get better value for money by contacting a local florist to the recipient. By using a relay company (ie Interflora) you will receive less value for money - all a relay company do is send an email to a local florist with the order, but deduct their percentage.

So you spend £30.00 but you wont get £30 worth of flowers.

    Yes... I am a florist

  5. We had an orange 3g internet dongle, bought it 2 years ago, worked fine, topping up was easy then all of a sudden last time we tried no go, went into the orange shop, she said the sim had expired, had to buy a new one (8 euros) to top it up by 10e mobicarte, ring through the number and it should work. Think I will take the lappie into the orange shop with the mobicarte and get them to do it for us - fingers crossed.

Hubby and I would love to move over and enjoy our property (owned for 10 years), for the ladies on the forum.... would you stay in a gite (either with friends or strangers,up to 4) for a few days and learn some floristry?? If your daughter was getting married and you wanted to do your own flowers, would this appeal??

For couples.... would you stay in a gite and hubby learn some carpentry/joinery whilst wife learns some floristry??

Dont want to leave the men out.... so would any men be interested in carpentry/joinery in France??

    Just ideas at the moment
