5-element
To stay on track: Is the New York Post the equivalent of the British Daily Mail? (this is in French, I have limited time and couldn't find the original NYP "article"). Obviously, to take with a large pinch of salt since it is a tabloid.http://www.courrierinternational.com/article/2011/05/24/le-new-york-post-enfonce-dskBasically, it says that the alleged victim will end up a very rich woman (7 figures are mentioned), whichever way the court case goes. cooperlola
Neither is this. idun
So all this happened in about half an hour. Thankyou for the links. Re the Nouvel Obs, well I suppose that we all knew that even if her saliva and his sperm are found together it would only prove that fellatio had occured. As opposed to initial denial that anything had happened at all? Is the man getting blow jobs so frequently that he cannot remember from whom or where? Whatever, the circumstances and the argument consensual or attempted rape will be heard in court.

Gardener
So from not having had sex with her at all, it changes to consensual sex, now to the maid orchestrating it to blackmail him. Clair
In today's Times, there's an article describing how DSK's defence team are focusing on the woman's past in order to undermine her testimony. Nothing new or unexpected there.A NY firm of intelligence research has flown some operatives to Guinea to look inot her background before her arrival in the US.There is concern that her relatives may feel intimidated by the wealth and tactics of the defence team. There is also a mention of DSK having been found by French police with a prostitute in a car in a well-known area of Paris in 2006.Sarkozy was Interior Minister at the time and was made aware of the situation.Allegedly.EDIT: Nicolas Sarkozy's cache of sleaze on rivals including Dominique Strauss-KahnIn the Bllomberg article above, it says "Brafman [one the of defence team] told French television’s TF1 on May 22 that, basedon the evidence he had seen, his client would be acquitted at afair trial." (my emphasis)Is he preparing the ground for claims of an unfair trial?

cooperlola
It's been said already on this thread, I know, but whatever the outcome of the DSK case, if its legacy is to empower women to come out against abuses of this sort then some real and positive good will have come out of this sorry affair.
