Christine Animal
Made me have a look about them. They date back to 1945! Did you get the vintage box with it?http://store.nationalww2museum.org/browse.cfm/original-slinky-collectors-ed./4,606.html They cost one dollar back then and only ten now. You'll have to keep it a while longer!

idun
We found one whilst we were unpacking, not an original though and I played with it for some time, in fact I would carry it upstairs with me and let it go and have a little smile as I went about whatever I needed to get on with upstairs as I could here it bounce it's way down, or hear the cat go after it.Not sure if the cat broke it or someone got it out of my way, to be found at the back of some cupboard eventually. Christine Animal
And here back in the early fifties we can see our young Pacha practising deftly with his new and original slinky ready for later days when he would also spring to fame as the great Complete France forum fountain of knowledge, Pachapapa! Judith
Gosh, that brings back memories. We had one and I can remember letting it "fall" down the stairs, and since I can remember which house it was and we moved there in 1967, it was certainly still around then!I wonder what happened to it and if one of the family still has it????
