Judith-aka-Judith
Don't they use conch shelles in one of the island paradises to use as a communications tool? Doesn't surprise me in the least.
Gardengirl
I heard a little about it on R4 this morning and thought it sounded a wonderful find on both occasions. To realise that actual equivalent notes had been drilled in it made it seem so close in time to us - shivers down the spine time from so long ago!
