Discret

Cassis

Recommended Posts

Not for the first time, this morning we have had a comment in our Guest Book saying that we are 'discret'.  What the heck do they mean by that?  I thought it meant discreet, tactful, reserved, diplomatic.  Are they taking the pee or what?  We have had a number of very young couples in recently and a few older ones, many paying by cash, which is unusual for our French guests.  Are we turning into the local knocking shop, do you think?

Jude?  Discreet? [Www]

She went to St Mary's, don't forget, and then to Thornhill.

That message in full:

"Nuit calme et paisible, cadre et chambre très agréable, hôtes souriants et discrets   ...  Au plaisir"

Now what does that suggest to you?  What was all this 'pleasure' business, eh?

It's a real compliment Cassis, that they really enjoyed it and will return.

"Calm and peaceful night, very pleasant setting and room, smiling and discreet hosts...  until the pleasure of another stay."

Any other clues? Local numberplates or garage stickers in their cars, perhaps?

There is a place local to us that is the reputed setting for afternoon

assignations - sort of lunch, bed and quick cup of tea before you nip

back to the office. I must say that their car park is usually well

stocked, even in Winter, so perhaps there is something in it.

I reckon Chris is right - this is a business opportunity. Try putting

up signs saying things like "We didn't see you and you weren't here" or

"our sheets are changed hourly" and see if you get any pick up.

If he had elaborated on that comment (Descret) I think he may have said something like this:

"We hardly ever see them.  The owner passes all his time on the computer and his poor wife is either in the kitchen or tending to the daily upkeep of the place.  We can do what we like at night because the wife is in an exhausted coma and he's still downstairs 'til the wee hours doing God knows what on the computer!"

Had a very nice walk and picked up a few cèpes acajou along the way.

I like the business opportunities suggested above.  Should we invest in paper sheets, do you think?  Offer video camera hire?  Loan them my handcuffs and ankle chains?

I bet if truth be know, that is exactly what was written.

That cunning sausage is making up all his own testimonials. As Ricky T would say...discret my a r se............[:)]

When we first took over here, it was a hotel/resto and a few couples

would pay a full night for an afternoons debauchery (David Gray innit

?) and....wait for it Mr Smith........they were a few teachers among

'em !!

We don't get any of them, any more, more's the pity [;-)]

It reminds me of being invited by our neighbour to a special meal for his birthday, for which he had saved a couple of calves heads - apparently a great delicacy in our neck of the woods. There was this big pot bubbling away with an eye or two staring out at us....
