A beautiful Lab, Deux-Sèvres (79)

Recommended Posts

Spot came to us last week as his owners were leaving on holiday the next day, otherwise they were going to take him to the Niort refuge (where we are always trying to get them out) !

He's a big, sturdy, very handsome and good-natured Labrador.

He's another big baby who hasn't had enough family contact, although he lived in the house, but his owners were both out at work all day.  He has, however, been to obedience classes and sits when you put on and take off his lead, etc.  He's quite a big softy.  He didn't know cats, but is getting used to seeing them now.

Spot is neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated.  He was born in November 2004 and he's a really beautiful boy.

Oh my goodness, he could be a brother to our Billy! What a temptation, but I must resist as we have three already. Here he is with his 'mentor' Teddy.

Why couldn't his owners put him in kennels for the holiday?

Sorry, Roby Roy I missed the photo of yours or did you edit it and add the photo after.  They are really beautiful.  Where's the third one ?

Why didn't they put him in kennels for the holiday?  Because madame didn't want to "put up with him" any more.  Monsieur was rather more distressed and we wondered if he wasn't really hesitating between Spot and his wife !  Since they had recently moved and their garden wasn't fenced, she said he would run off, which is only normal for a young dog if they were out at work all day.  He is now neutered, so should calm down a lot, which he has already done since he's with us.

Linda, I don't know if he will still be here until Christmas.  I hope not as we have two in kennels and if Spot goes, we can bring one back here.  Watch this space, if he goes I shall obviously post it here.  But there are other lovely Labs needing homes.  I am trying to find someone for this poor lovely four year old who is in a refuge in Béthune north of France.

Please get in touch with me when you are here.  Where are you going to be ? Oh, I've just seen, Correze.

Christine, here are all three of them - Billy looks as though he is sulking with his back to the camera! Jet (the black) is an old boy now, 13, rather arthritic, but otherwise still full of life.

I think Billy has lost some weight since that photo - he looks a bit porky there, it must have been the puppy fat (he was 1 yr old in April and this was taken about then).

Linda, wish I could offer to keep Spot for you until you get here, (wouldn't he and Billy have great fun when they got together ?) but you know what chaos it is here already! I haven't shown OH the pictures, you know what he's like with labradors!!

Sorry Christine, didn't mean to hijack your appeal. Do hope they find loving homes.
