audio
Thank you Bernice. It will make it a bit easier entering the UK.
cooperlola
If they decide to do away with the tapeworm treatments too that will save a lot of faffing about. Even if they relaxed the timeframes a bit that would help ease the logistical nightmare that it is at the moment. Thanks, Bernice.[:)]
audio
Yes this 24/48hr bit is a real pain particularly if you intend to travel on a Monday
val douest
It seems from the link that tick treatments will be dispensed with entirely and that the tapeworm treatment will have a 1-5 day window - much easier. And hopefully now the waiting period after the rabies shot will be so much shorter (plus no need for a blood test) there will be fewer animals abandoned by people moving back unexpectedly.Val
cooperlola
Thanks, Val. I had only spotted the "under consideration at European level" bit! Doh.
idun
This is very good news, very good indeed. What a lot of money we have spent, especially when the cat didn't pass his exam and we had to start all over again.
Pommier
Really good news - especially for animals who were going to be left behind in France.
JeanS
Again - good news and as previous, especially if it means that people will take their pets back to the UK rather than abandoning them.
Joe
Will there still be the 24/48hr bit because the pets still have to have the worming tablet?Although like the tick treatment you would make sure they were ok with normal healthcare.

Why do they have animals (they cannot be pets) in the first place? These people should be abandoned in the Sahara.[:@]
Michael.Nadia
Wow that's GREAT NEWS. Was going to head back home to the UK in 3 months but was really worried about my dog having to wait, now with this its going to be much easier. Thanks for the info.. Rabbie
I don't want to put a dampener on this but remember the new rules for pets coming to the UK don't come into effect until January 1st 2012.
biscuitbri
These changes will make very little difference to us and cannot believe we are the only ones. At the moment we see the vet on Monday, he asks " when do you leave France?" we say "Thursday mid-day" and he makes the necessary 'mistake' with the date, and we take a leisurely 3 day trip across France. As from next year it will be exactly the same proceedure without the 'mistake'.
