Quite so Ron but does the French system tie up CT & Insurance with the reg. number I wonder ? If so then a vehicle's status as far as DVLA are concerned should not be a show stopper.

The logistics of tying up a system which deducts points, usually in multiples of 3, with one which awards them in small increments should be interesting to work out though.

The present solution discussed, only applies to fines.

The question of points, still has to be solved. There are at present too many legal problems.
