Gluestick,

I am very repsectful of the IR as I realise their seemingly limitness power.

I fill in a tax return and declare my earnings, thankfully they don't take anything from me

Good luck, Mate!

Much of what I do is to assist clients to minimise their tax bills.

Some years back a belted Earl or some such, liquidated his collection of mint coins at Spinks, probably.

He trousered circa £10,000,000 and paid not a sou in Capital Gains tax!

'Cos sensibly, he or his advisers had read the law and realised that a de minimus charge applied and every one of his coins on purchase was beneath the de minimum limit!

Perhaps I could persuade the Revenue that trading equities options was gambling? [Www]

Which it is really.
