Income Tax Declaration Form no 2047

Does one have to fill in form 2047 ("Declaration deas Revenus encaissés à l'étranger") if you have received an income in the UK, a straightforward salary, and already paid income tax on it at source?

Do the French authorities need to know this, and is it any advantage to me to tell them if I only earned €2k in France that year (Nov and Dec), but joint income in same year in UK (Jan to Jul) was €22k gross??

Thanks

If you are resident in France, you are obliged to declare all world-wide income. If it has already been taxed, and there is a double taxation agreement in force (as there is between Britain and France) you will not be taxed again. If the foreign income takes you into a higher French tax band, though, you may have to pay a adjustment.
