Advise Sought

Recommended Posts

Hello - we are new to this site and new to France. Prior to signing anything we asked the previous owners if they had any problems with flooding on the property. They said no. The second week of occupation, we had a flood, after the third time and much money spent on the canalisation, we telephoned the previous owner who vehemently denied ever having had any problems. The neighbours, however, say that the previous owners had problems every time it rained. Do I go back to the notaire? Do I get an Avocat? Any advise would be appreciated. Also, in the sale of the house, we "paid" Euro 3k for a Godin range. The oven does not work, the gas keeps cutting out. I'm desperate!

Did you get anything in writing about the flooding? If not then I don't think that there is much that you can do. As for the Godin, the last owner will only say that it worked OK while he was there. If you put more detail in your profile someone who knows where you live might be able to help.
