That's brilliant. I imagine anybody could set up a similar site for another area, you just need an AIS (automatic identification system) receiver sited in VHF range of the ships' AIS units. So ideally you should live within a few miles of a busy port.

Edit - further to the above, Lloyd's Maritime Intelligence Unit offers similar AIS information for just about any port in the world (or at least all of those where there is an agent). It's a subscription service, but you can get a two week trial at http://www.lloydsmiu.com/lmiu/freetrial.htm. Also, if you go to the home page of the site mentioned above, you can register to get increased coverage.
