Our house in the Haute Vienne is a holiday home but we would like to plant some shrubs and trees etc that will survive during the time we are not there ie not need lots of watering..Any advise would be appreciated[8-)]

I'm sure you'll have lots of suggestions for this but my put-in is that

it's best to wait until Oct.-Nov. to do the planting. The soil will

still be warm and you'll have the rain to irrigate when you're not

there. Especially during the time they are becoming established. 

The garden centres will have a better selection then too. Pat.
