We have been here in Burgundy for over 4 years and they have been fine.A few weeks ago the leaves started to turn yellow and are now rapidly dropping off.Can anyone help please? Cassis Posted October 2, 2006 Share Posted October 2, 2006 Rhodos are susceptible to a host of bugs and diseases. They don't like waterologged roots - can't imagine that's your problem - and they have to have an acid soil. Have you checked your soil ph - should be 4.5-5.5 for them to be really happy. If your soil is not naturally acid, it may be that the previous owners gave it a regular treatment to counteract lime chlorosis (which causes yellowing and leaf fall). The effects may now have worn off after a few years of no treatment. All garden centres sell stuff to treat the soil if that is the case. But you've probably lost next year's flower buds as well.
