jandv
We have a twenty year old concrete pool in renovation - the structure is extremely sound and only needs a rub down and some paint. Although I have not delved very deeply at the moment, I have been unable to locate suppliers of pool paint, of either the acrylic or rubber based type. Living close to Perpignan, can anyone help please?

Wils
My only advise would be don't! You will only have to do it again in a few years time, unless it is a very good quality paint applied carefully it will start to peel. Why not bite the bullet and tile the pool. We did ours ourself 3 years ago after some horrendous paint problems. It took us 4 days, looks super and shouldn't need to be touched again. It was more expensive than paint but only about 50% so cheaper than painting it twice would have been.
Poolguy
JanvIf you are resigned to painting the pool semi-regularly, say every 3years or so, then any good quality enamel paint should suffice, howeverif you want a very durable finish for 10 years or more then use a 2pack epoxy, but take care and use complete coverage protective clothingand breathing protection - this is nasty stuff, but it does last. Thatall presumes that your concrete is not moving at all, for if it doesthen you will have cracks appearing and the paint will peel in aheartbeat. If that is the case then there are rubberised restorativefinishes, if you PM me then I'll dig out the brands and suppliers foryou. But I cannot warrant in any way the effectivness of the treatment. The alternative, as Wils suggest is to tile the pool, but that tool canhave its difficulties. If you have any movement of your structure atall, which I would suspect in your area, then I would council you toinstall a liner, preferably an armoured one. That will give you betterthan 20 years life and no more work to do - just swimming.Contact me if you need more helpAndrew
