tom Posted September 5, 2007 Share Posted September 5, 2007 our house has an underground water 'collector' from the old days,with a bucket in the style of a well. long since disused, but can one make use of it a plunge pool with modification etc ? or am i stuck with using it as a cellar-once i create a doorway in !? The minerals dissolved in the watersometimes make it very problematic for swimming in.If you are at all interested in your health, then I urge you to keep the well as such and not venture futher.Andrew Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jonzjob Posted September 10, 2007 Share Posted September 10, 2007 One thing that I have heard to be very careful about is that there can be a build up of CO2 in large underground well 'caves'. There was a case of 2 French blokes killed. The son went into the well and collapsed and the father went in to help and collapsed too. Both died!! There was a CO2 build up that neither realised.
