Although it was not in any sense a computer, with it you could send and recieve emails. It cost in the region of £75.She tells me that she has not seen them for sale in France but was wondering if she imported one from across the Channel, would it work in France? Ecossais Posted June 15, 2005 Share Posted June 15, 2005 Unfortunately the Amstrad E-Mailers (I guess that’s what you are referring to?) will only work when connected to a UK landline. The E-mailers are sold at a subsidised priced. They are programmed to dial a UK premium rate number once a day to send / receive emails. Sending / receiving emails costs about 17p per session. If you used the phone in France, it would not be able to dial the premium rate number, so it will not work.
