Craig McGinty Posted July 8, 2004 Share Posted July 8, 2004 Hi allThought this might interest a few people:"THE French government has asked motorists to use their parking lights whilst driving during the winter months.The experiment will run from October 31 until March 27, 2005 but is not compulsory and the transport ministry has advised that lights should only be used outside cities and towns.A ministerial statement said: The possible gain such a measure would bring can be evaluated, according to experts, at between five to eight percent fewer deaths and eight to 10 percent fewer injuries.Motorcyclists have said that they face increased dangers, as their own lights will be harder to distinguish amongst car lights.And the ministry also announced stricter blood alcohol levels for bus and coach drivers to less than that for regular drivers."RegardsCraig McGintyhttp://www.thisfrenchlife.com Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
