Yes, yes, yes.

Today we received our Number Plate Authorisation Certificate from DVLA.

We have reached the end of the long, tortuous and expensive road.

Cost? erm - £400 or so for headlights and MOT,

£60 for speedo in miles, about the same to swap positioning of the foglamp and reversing light, 150euros for certificate of conformity, £55 for first registration fee, £110 for tax disc - plus insurance of course but we would have needed that anywhere.

Worth it? Erm - not totally sure.

Good for you. We were with the MAIF and they have a mulitlanguage letter that they send out about no claims, a friend got one from them recently too when they moved back to the UK. Like us they bought a UK car.

Our car was worth at the time around 1500€ or next to nothing in the UK. So £500 was too much investment, in both time and money for us. We got the 1500€ and put it towards another car in the UK.

Sometimes these things are worth it, sometimes they aren't.
