bubbles Posted June 25, 2011 Author Share Posted June 25, 2011 Yes, yes, yes.Today we received our Number Plate Authorisation Certificate from DVLA.We have reached the end of the long, tortuous and expensive road.Cost? erm - £400 or so for headlights and MOT, £60 for speedo in miles, about the same to swap positioning of the foglamp and reversing light, 150euros for certificate of conformity, £55 for first registration fee, £110 for tax disc - plus insurance of course but we would have needed that anywhere.Worth it? We were with the MAIF and they have a mulitlanguage letter that they send out about no claims, a friend got one from them recently too when they moved back to the UK. Like us they bought a UK car.Our car was worth at the time around 1500€ or next to nothing in the UK. So £500 was too much investment, in both time and money for us.
