hi

we have recently moved to the Auvergne from the UK and brough our washing machine with us. unfortunately 2 weeks after plumbing it in, it blew up and we had to get a new one. the question i have is how do we dispose of the old one? do we just leave it out for the garbage disposal?

thanks

Our UK machine became US when the door flew off and disintergrated during a spin. If you have the muscle power and an estate car, you take it to the local decheterie (spelling?) Like a idiot, every village has one!

If you can't carry it you will have to get a friendly neighbour to assist you!

Good luck!

Hi

the position here (34) is :

1) dump it in the local dechetterie which accepts old washing machines ...... not all do (we need a card issued by the mairie with the car reg no, validated by a carte grise ..... this entitles us to use the various facilities of 3 dechetteries + more specialised by arrangement)

2)there is a monthly collection of big items such as this. Don't know when, but I see the neighbours putting out big stuff for collection once per month. (I'm sure the Mairie could provide dates , but I use my old van to go to the dechetterie for this)

3)When I replaced my nearly 20 yr old UK mc Leclerc were happy to take the old one away

Bonne chance

Peter
