Stabilisng solution for stone walls

Can any one tell me the name (s) of a stabilising solution to be used on a flakiing / powdery stone wall to help bind together.

We do not want to spoil the look so a clear solution to be sprayed on is preferable.

We live in France so need to find a french solution.

You havent said wether the walls are internal or external? There are many different products available but most are for specific areas. If your local builders merchant is big enough he may have a LEFARGE Products catalogue where, even with minimal French, you should find a solution.

This wall is inside an old barn.

The stones are like pink granite - so very fine and powdery/sandy.

I used PVA glue thinned down with water to a spraying consistency and it worked fine. That is what stabilising solution is anyway which is the same as the roller blind stiffening solution. I bought PVA glue in gallon cans in the UK as it is so useful for many things e.g. to paint on smooth surfacer as a paint primer as well.

We did the same as Leschenauds, excepted painted it on. Reduced the 'fall out' considerably.
