Thanks to all for responding on the Planning permission question.

We have decided to apply for permission as it appears that LEGALLY it is required, although the various Maire's have differing view points.

With my luck I'd end up getting caught - stopping  for 2.9 seconds instead of 3 at a Stop sign near Gond Pontouvre cost me 90 euros the other day ( yes, I know all the men are now saying 'serves her right' and the women are saying 'policemen are pigs!' ).

My question now is, on the Permis de Construire form  section 6 asks how many 'pieces principales' are being created. I understand this means 'main rooms' and somewhere in the back of my mind I'm sure I've read that bathrooms are not classed as 'principale' but I couldn't swear on it.  Does anyone know? We are adding 2 bedrooms and 2 shower rooms. Is this 2 or 4 'pieces principales'.

If possible I'd be grateful for a response from someone who has applied for this permission or definately knows someone who has and has been successful?

Thanks again,

Shelagh
