  1. Hello all, does anyone know if my licence will cover me for trailer towing when I transfer from my brit one to a French one. I passed my test years ago so can legally tow in the UK, I also have a class one HGV entitlement which I will keep as long as I can just in case. A friend was told he would have to do a test as he had not passed a test for the trailer towing in the UK. Does the class one HGV C+E cover me? I want to be able to tow our bikes around and as the gross weight might be over the 500kg I don't want a tug off the gendarmes.

  2. My wife has a Hornet older than you want but still a cracking bike. The tank is 16l newer models have 17l. Normal days out we are looking for fuel at 220k if you wring its neck like any bike a lot less KPH. I rode it before giving it to her and I loved it. Very easy to live with and lots of mid range torque. One of the guys in the Hornet club has done over 100,000 miles and has never had the head off. If you want more wind protection then the Fazer is a better bet as they do a half faired version.

  3. I need to visit my architect in the Last week of March. So I have persuaded two of my chums to ride down with me on the motorcycles. I want some where cheap to stay for a few days near to Beaulieu sur Dordogne. I also need somewhere for the three of us about three hours from the tunnel on the 27th Loire side of Paris, near Chartres would be OK.

Please PM me if you have any ideas.

    Thanks

  4. She is the current wife. Only one I have ever had and only one I ever want. Is a joke term nicked from a mate who introduces his wife like that and has done for over 35 years.

You are indeed correct with the areas I am looking at, not so much the Cantal as that is close to where I will build my house in Altillac. The Puy de Dome below Vichy down to the Haute Loire. I want to do some hill walking and wander around pretty village type trip.

  5. Hello all, my first post. I will introduce myself when I find the appropriate place.

I have just bought a plot of land in dept 19 and had the notaire wrote up a CU at the time of purchase. I took advice from an Anglo French law firm I found out about on this forum. They are based in Newcastle upon Tyne, might be worth a call. Their web address is http://www.anglofrenchlaw.co.uk/index.htm the joint owner is Marcel and he was very helpful.
