we are organising a trip with our classic car club to the above region in August 2016. I wondered if there are any forum members who could suggest places of interest, places to eat/stay. We live in the Limousin, so are already familiar with those parts of the Auvergne that border the Creuse. We were looking to go further south towards Cantel. Any info would be helpful. many thanks

I wonder if forum members could advise me regarding a car club trip planned for next year, somewhere in France. We belong to a local classic car club here in the Limousin and offered to arrange a four-day trip somewhere in France for the early part of September 2013. The club have travelled to Northern and Western France in the past, so I am inclined to look somewhere to the East or South. I was wondering if there were any specific events/festivals etc in your area in early September, that might be a magnet to draw us there. We can then plan other outings/trips around that. Any suggestions greatfully received.thankspiglet

thanks to all of you who responded. Ernie I have emailed the company you suggested and I will also look out for an insurance broker when I next visit Aubusson.

Does anyone have any tips for insuring imported our RHD Volvo in France? Now got our Carte Gris and tried a couple of web sites but they seem reluctant to insure RHD cars not bought here (les véhicules étrangers non achetés par les mandataires français) and am getting fed up imputting our data to no avail. Many thanks.

A slightly odd question really, but is there anyone planning to leave France in the near future and needing an English car? We live in France, and have an English registered car which we would like to swop with a french registered car. Naturally there might well be a price differential, but all of that could be discussed. We would need an estate car or similar Interested then please pm me
thanks

Our daughter is due to get married in the UK on October 25th and had planned to have hydrangea flower heads to decorate the church and at the reception. However due to the excessive rain in the UK over recent weeks it would appear that the flowers are hard to obtain and thus very expensive.
Here in the Creuse many gardens have hydrangea shrubs with beautiful flowers, sadly not our garden. However, our neighbours have kindly agreed to save some for us. The flowers can be dried and used for several weeks, even months. We still do need more and hence the post. If you have any unwanted hydrangea flowerheads please could you possibly save them for us. We can travel up to a 40 mile radius of Aubusson, but also we could possibly collect en route to Calais. We travel via Rouen, stopping at Alencon overnight. So if you are nearby we could possible collect. We are due to get the Eurostar (hopefully sorted by then) on Oct 7th, so travelling up on Oct 6th.
Please do let us know if you can help.
thank you so much
