We were cycling from Paris, so I remember Besancon, then Pontarlier, and down into Geneva.  Seeing signs to Switzerland was amazing (I was 17 at the time).  We did a tour round most of central and southern France, finally ending up back in Paris after 6 weeks or so.  The Jura always stayed in my mind as one of the most scenic areas, probably along with the area around Le Puy.  Compared to other areas though, there does not seem to be much (affordable) property for sale.I guess if we ever move out to France, we are looking for somewhere that is colder than the UK in the winter  (it is nice to have proper seasons), warmer in the summer, and most importantly with a bit more sunlight throughout the year.

Hi Odile, I cycled through the Jura a long time ago, and remember it was lovely.  What is the climate like year-round?

I often come to France on holiday but because of my job I need Internet access on my laptop all the time.  Does anyone know of a French mobile phone tariff that has unlimited Internet GPRS access? In the UK I use the T-Mobile WebnWalk service which is cheap and very good - is there something similar that I could signup for (preferably whilst still in the UK).  Thanks.
