  1. I am being very cheeky but I was wonderring if anyone in Deux Sevres might be thinning out estabished Pampas Grass and possibly have some to give away. If not, where is the best place to purchase some..
  2. What a beautiful girl !! I sincerely hope you find a loving home for her. I would have her but I am struggling with my very old Cocker lady who is going down hill fast now. Our French rescue labrador would have loved to have Lily as a friend but circumstances at this time prevent me from being able to offer her a home. She is amazing !!!!!
  3. I am not a lover of  McDonalds and I do not like Pizzas at all but I must admit I am partial to a KFC now and again. We noticed last week when we were at Auchan that some nice eating places have been built and also Flunch is very good value inside the shopping area there so spoilt for choice. What we have noticed on the rare occasion we used McDonalds that unlike UK it was almost empty so maybe the younger generation still prefer a nice lunch in a cafe.
  4. Yes, well done to you sir. My OH has said for years that eventually it will be the older generation who will step in aas they will eventually get sick to death of some, and I emphasize some, of the younger generation causing chaos and running riot. The Police have their hands tied to a certain degree and cannot at times do their job as they would wish.
  5. Morning Christine

No appology neeed and normally I am always up for a giggle but this organisation is close to my heart as my youngest son is a Royal Marine and our eldest Grandaughter's husband is on his third six month tour now. Very worrying !!!!!

  6. A friend of mine here in France is gagginng for some Scampi so I wondered if it can be purchased here. If so, where ? We live in Deux Sevres close to Poitiers and Niort and she does not  mind a short journey to buy some. Picard in Niort is a frozen food shop so does anyone know if they stock it.
  7. Thanks Sunday Driver for your info and Jacui, we have a big car and we could always use our number plate from our trailer but it would still be illegal. I would be a bag of nerves all the way to the ferry port. I suppose we could plead ignorance if stopped but would all the LF members visit me inside.[:)][:)]

  8. Yes, I know somewhere this has been asked before and I have been searching for the thread but have now lost the will to live so don't shout at me as I am cold and fragile today. We have an English van and we are thinknig of taking to UK and leaving it there. It has not been registered in France as we have never used it but I understand there are temporary plates that can be applied just to get it to England. We have an English car with French plates but unlike UK we ca[;-)]nnot just put duplicate plates on the van, well, not legally that is. Anyone know how we get around this ?  [;-)]  [;-)]  [;-)]
  9. We have a slow cooker that we have had for many years but it is a pain to clean as nothing comes apart so while in England this time we bought a Crock Pot slow cooker from Argos. It cost us about £45 but it is big and the Crock Pot can be taken to the table for serving if required. Yes, I always cook beef overnight in mine and it is delicious and it just falls apart when slicing. Stews are great cooked in them but as I like crispy dumplings I then transfer the stew into the oven to cook  the dumplings. The Crock Pot came with a recipe book which has a nice recipe for Pork l'Orange which I will try.  Have fun experimenting with yours when you buy one as they definately are a boon.
  10. My thoughts are with you this afternoon as we are in a very difficult situation ourselves. We have a very old Cocker lady who has had several operations and the last trip to the vet was for a very bad urine infection. The examination was very upsetting for her as it included inserting a Catheta to extract some urine for testing. She seemed to improve but has now gone back to wetting none stop and she does not even know she is doing it and aimlessly walks through it before we can clean it up. She is also making a dreadful rasping noise, which I did mention to the vet on our last trip to him but it is getting worse now. She has already had a Tumor taken out from inside her ear and she is covered in lumps and bumps. So, like you I am dreading going back to the vet as I think I know what he may suggest and it will break my heart. I will be thinking about you today and I hope it all turns out alright for your beloved dog.
