Amazing, JJ, just amazing. What talent.

Loved the stage that Grenadiers won yesterday. What talent!

How’s the woodwork, JJ?

Yes, it was a good speech and Borees seemed very flat. But I wonder whether Ed of the two tone hair is not sharpening his knife to plunge it into Starmer’s back as he did with his brother. After all, the Left are looking for a new champion?

Presumably you have your retiring MT’s records to give the new MD?

Pockets, underwear?

Mine goes directly through the system and I do not have to pay up front, except once when my health card wouldnt work.

If interested, some folk might like to sign a petition to save Brittany Ferries which have been having a tough time since covid. The French local authorities who are behind it want the govt. to reduce or cancel the employers part of social security charges, at least. 3000 jobs involved.https://www.sauvonslabrittany.bzh/

BiB, that post was below even your meagre standards. I must assume that you have been at the grape or the grain, again.Had you bothered to look at one of my posts on an earlier thread ypu would have seen that I do not particularly like BJ.Bu then I suppose you prefer the late alternative, an antisemitic fanatic?

Surely, he is just standing up to EU bullying by using the same weapons as they have done, mainly threats.
-
Well, given that the previous Prime Minister seemed not to be very assertive as regards Brexit and was seemingly walked over by Brussels, it is good to see the British standing up for the nation’s interest. To be fair, the EU has its own problems with Italy and Hungary maybe withdrawing, the chance that the budget may be voted down and growing anti Brussels feeling generally.
-
Anything which shakes up EU arrogance is a good idea!

I think MMA is a big one worth looking at?There are usually different levels of cover and hence prices for you to choose from. I think the minimum is hospitalisation only, right up to Rolls Royce thrown in. I chose hospital cover only as my main illness is classed as an ALD. And I wouldnt want a roller!

Do not go gentle into that good night,Old age should burn and rave at close of day;Rage, rage against the dying of the light.Though wise men at their end know dark is right,Because their words had forked no lightning theyDo not go gentle into that good night.Good men, the last wave by, crying how brightTheir frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,Rage, rage against the dying of the light.Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,Do not go gentle into that good night.Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sightBlind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,Rage, rage against the dying of the light. And you, my father, there on the sad height,Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.Do not go gentle into that good night.Rage, rage against the dying of the light. From The Poems of Dylan Thomas, published by New Directions. Does that rule apply to wives???

What worries me about your quote, Nimt, is that it applies to Donald Trump and even Hilter!

albf, do not try to shove your prejudices down the OP throat. Go get a job instead.

Could you simply upgrade to a decent keyboard and save money? If the computer doesnt move much this could be a practical solution.

In those days there were five mods, I think.

When I joined this forum there were still dinosaurs flying around and Norman was but a twinkle in the egg of one of them. Lost tons of posts at one time and got shut out so came back as my sister. In the early days Brits were flooding into France so there were many questions about setting up here; nobody seems to ask for left handed crank pins any more or what present to give to the mary when they announce themselves!

Just to get one thing right, I dont like BJ much. But then, though a Conservative, I dont much like the direction the party has taken or some of the newer MPs.

As a staunch Remainer I was disgusted by the result of the referendum, but now am more disgusted by the performance of Monsieur Barnier and his negotiators who have tried in every way to milk Britain of independence and indeed create a vassal state defined as‘A vassal state is any state that has a mutual obligation to a superior state or empire, in a status similar to that of a vassal in the feudal system in medieval Europe. ... In some cases, the obligation included paying tribute, but a state which does so is better described as a tributary state.‘I think that UK has to tell them to sod off, stick to her guns. That way the brinkmanship now being indulged in will be replaced by sensible negotiations which one hopes are being carried out behind closed doors. And get rid of Barnier who is a vassal of the French president as well as being a failed French politician, and there are plenty of those.

Debs left us 8 years ago today. Fond memories and much respect for a tenacious and lovely person. RIP Debs.

The days of battling it out with Ricky Rocket and Dick Smith are long gone, perhaps as well, but we did have some fun late at night and some battles with mods.
