  1. DT and Iwanka will pardon one of two turkeys called Corn and Cob in an old Thanksgiving tradition.

One wonders if anyone will ever pardon the Turkey President or his weefe? Both probably too tough, old and stringy to eat and one having eaten nothing but Macdonalds burgers for years is probably raddled and addled. So, chop ‘em both?

  2. If I last that long, dear, inshallah. Would like the Oxford one as I am more prone to trust them than another. So my little Bird and I can get together again. and go on hols.

    You up for it?
  3. The Germans and Americans seem to have a vaccine or two and Oxford/ Astra Zeneca has one just about over the line but where is the French one? It seems improbable that they too woudnt have one imminent.

UK at least seems about to start vaccinating. Maybe we shall al be done by April? Meanwhile......
  4. My daughter has suggested that she and grandchild should be tested before they decide whether to come her for Xmas and that there are prickfinger blood tests available now at pharmacies. Such tests are not on sale in Belgium and I suspect not here either.

Has anyone had a test, what did you have?

Here is a list of what is available, by the way:

  5. Well, the article implies a wish to curb Amazon, an idea pushed mainly by the far left unions and loony politicians like Mélenchon, and the far Right.

Which means to me that Amazon is here to stay and will get bigger despite moans and groans.

Of cpurse, had it been French there would have been no discussion.
  6. Of course Amazon should pay appropriate taxes but using taxation to stunt their growth and to protect the so called commerces de proximité seems unrealistic. People like Amazon and want to use it and not the expensive and very limited local shops, even if they are staffed by chubby, smiling local staff so keen to help and take your cash!

Anyway, there do seem to be rumblings in the playground with the usual suspects chiming in.

  7. It seems that 15 % of folk in France are anti any form of vaccination and 50% are anti the Covid jab, largely on the grounds that it had not been ‘proven’ yet.

What percentage of the population needs to be done to get rid of covid?

Should refusal be sanctioned in some way?
