with Orange it not the loging on/off its the user account that is looked at in other word your user name fti/****** then your mot de passe de conexion that give the account opening facility. If you set up two email accounts on the same user account it will asked which account you want to sign in. So the only way that your account can be accessed if from a PC/mac that has your account details on it fti/****** etc or your email address and your email password.

If you format the drive and reinsatll the OS make sure that you have all the drives otherwise you could end up with more problems than you bargined for.

I have a few clients who are running wimax with numeo and it all good news. AS long as you have "line of sight" to the transmitter all is great. 2 meg connection or there abouts and a damm site cheaper then sat. Go for it if you can get it. We cannot get and BB here so we are waiting on numeo . I known a PC tech with no ADSL...... nightmare.

Well the conection is not gonna be any quicker cos you will still be using Dial Up max 56k but normally about 40k. The only way to increase internet speed is to speed up the conection ie adsl. I would dump the orange install and just set up a dial up network, it uses MS componetants and not the largeish program from orange and it all in english.
Go start, programs, accesories, new connetion wizard aand then foloow the instruction

do the updates and run a scan. Also a full virus scan with upto date defs. That would be my start.

IF its a Sagem, thomson or ZX it is just a USB modem and will not connect unless you ask it, if its a live box you can set it to conect as soon as you start but I would get rid of the LB and get a prpoer router like a Netgear or linksys.The above USB modems will got to 2mb connetions while the router will give up to 25mb. There is no difference between usb speed and RJ45/ethernet only that you do not have to install a driver for ethernet.

Guys speaking as an MSCE, you cannot change the OS language it is set in Stone end of story, the end!!! The only way is to do an install with a differnet language OS cd which you are gonna have to buy, then make sure you back up all the drivers for the machine. Please do not get taken in by the sales man/woman who say it can be IT CANNOT.

Check to see if it has installed correctly right click my computer then go to properties then device manager. If is not installed it will have either a red X or a yellow ! next to it. If it looks OK check the orange seting that it is looking at the modem and not the networkcard. This is in the configuration setting. But I would say its the modem driver.

on the teleconnect one make sure you have set it up as the instruction say with making sure about the "detect setting" tab. Had the same problem with one setting up at Xmas for a client, checked the box and all was OK. PS still waitng for then to get nback to me on the help desk from Xmas. Tech support is shocking!!!!

you will need to usr the symnrt tool to remove totatlly otherwise it leasve reg keys . just go to http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 chose which one you have and zap it Avast or AVG for AV .AVG is easier to use but Avast has a better resident scan

I would use Dell as they deiliver either from the UK or France the UK delivery is bit more expensive but it can all be done in english, the french is usally free but has to be done in French. But you must ask for english keyborad and english O/S. Delivery is about 4 days from France and about a week from the UK. Then only difference between UK and US is @ and " as far as I remember.

Did you remove Norton correctly using the symnrt tool???? if not it is still there slowing the machine down

1 meg connection is nbetter than you are gona get on Sat. For a start the 1 meg will work all the time unlike sat. The cost of upload and download is about £100 per month yes ££££ per month and the set up fee starts at about £600-£1500 depending on the system needed. I would stick with the 1 meg. This is from an IT tech in 17 who is still on Dial up cos we are 2% of FRance who cannot get ADSL
