Thanks for that. We had just come to the same conclusion.

It's becoming clearer. Here is a picture an hour later, but I haven't identified it yet.

We had to collect the forms the first year but since then our 2047 has arrived a few days after the 2042, pre printed with name and address. We are currently waiting for this years!

In my case it was associated with a payment to "Vitamins Direct". Perhaps I should have been more concerned than I was but as it carried the same bank payment reference as the order I took no action.

It's a personal taste thing isn't it but we think Carte Noire.

I don't know about local to you but it is certainly available. I bought some 22mm to replace the top of a workmate in our quite small local hardware/brico shop.

Its not the norm certainly but they do sell it here. I have it in a cave on a feed to a plug socket, the cable running on clips along a beam and down the wall. In addition the feeds to the lights in my barn from the switches are all twin and earth, this was all installed by French electricians.
Are you sure Ron? UK T&E would be completely alien to a French electrician, as you can't buy it here. Are you confusing it with RO2 - the round 3-core rigid cable (which is to normes, having 3 insulated cores)?
I too have quite a lot of "apparently" twin and earth outside in the barn and utility room but closer inspection reveals three insulated cores, black, blue and green

Brilliant. I'm sure I recognised some of our furniture and I'm pleased to see that ours is not the only psychocat in existence![:)]

The exchange process is straightforward and you will then have a licence which lasts for life without having to be renewed every year.

Unless you return to the UK in which case it remains valid until aged 70 or for three years after becoming resident, whichever is the longer period

I have just been informed by my local garage, and confirmed on a couple of government sites, that as from 1 Jan 2008 the visit complementaire is no longer required for camping car of less than 3.5T. [:D] It may also be of interest that this also applies to hearses and handicapped vehicles
-
I tend to listen to whatever is on "France Bleu La Rochelle" in the car - for the language rather than any particular interest and really only watch soccer/rugby on French TV, which frees up UK satellite for other users![:)]

Surely a conforming security cover is required only if the pool has neither a conforming alarm nor fence.
Christ, that second half from England has got to be some of the worst international rugby i've ever seen. And we were right to worry about Balshaw - he looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights before that last try. Replace him with Lewsey, play Mathew Tait at centre, get rid of Wilko and play Cipriani and while we're at it let's ditch Ashton - call that selecting?
I'm off to have a skinfull.....
