  1. take care if you are having work done by an 'Artisan' whose liability insurance is with AREAS. Should you have reason to claim...damage to house whilst work being done, house burns down etc....getting them to cough up is no easy matter. They are not very co-operative. We have received not one reply to our many letters (registered) and even our own insurance agent is at a loss as to how to get them to respond. Has anyone else had this this problem?
  2. this worked for me...thanks...been having hotmail bounce back for over a week now...seems cured!
  3. that must be the link. We\are Teleconnect too. I have tried to call them but they have no out of hours service.....
  4. today or yesterday. All we get is a permanent engaged tone. Also hotmail has been retruned undelivered. Is it just us?
  5. we had similar problem and followed advice seen on here about vacuuming with the waste water going to the drain instead of back to filter. Its done the trick! We were told by our pool builders (eprinchard) that this is a common problem in the first season.
  6. this one rumbles on. We paid the bill minus 20%. His insurance wont pay. Our insurance doesnt cover us for damage by "professional" third party. We are threatened with court proceedings. The amount is small. 600 euros, but is half of the estimated cost of putting the floors back to rights. Anyone had this happen to them?
  7. our pool is being finished off and filled as I type....at which point should we, or must we fit an alarm? I suppose that even with a few inches of water in it, there is a danger (despite the fact that my french neighbours pool, less than five meters away from ours has no alarm!) We have been told that we must have the alarm fitted by an installer, by law. If that is tha case why do they sell them in the shops?
  8. Thank you for taking the time to reply...we have even more to consider, now!
  9. can anyone give some advice about the following.... we have had some work done in our house by a siret registered artisan and in the process have suffered some damage in the home, caused thro carelessness which we are not happy about. We havent yet paid the bill, and have been told to approach the artisans insurance company to claim for repairs. It is, apparantly, our responsibility to do this and to obtain devis for the work. Should we settle the bill, or hang on until we have had the insurance claim sorted? We cant help thinking that once the bill is paid the co-operation of the policy holder may dwindle. What is the legal position?
