Yes Norman we certainly felt it yesterday. It was about 8am when at first I thought it was very loud thunder, and then an almighty shuddering, I initially thought that a lorry had driven into the house, it was that strong. The whole thing was over in less than 5 seconds. It must be very frightening if you live somewhere where 'real' earthquakes take place.I then read the article that you linked, in The Independent yesterday afternoon, before I read your post, and was totally flabbergasted to read that the epicentre was as they put it, in a town called Bressuire. We are only about 15 kms from Bressuire, where we are going tonight, so I will look out for any damage.

I didn't watch her resign, but apparently she started blubbering, it is a shame that she did not shed any tears for all the disabled people, whose lives she made total hell.Now we will have the tory party beauty parade, which supposedly will last up to two months. Maybe it would be safer to enter the figures on the 2042 manually, our pensions have shown up automatically in boxes 1AM and 1BM after I hit the report button at the end of the 2047 form. If you do enter the figures manually, check on the final page that only one set of pension income is showing. The first year that I declared online, I filled out the 2042 first and then reported the figures from the 2047 and the pension income in boxes 1AM and 1BM had doubled!Just a thought.

Thanks for clearing that up John, like yourself I will leave box 206 blank, as I have always done.It would seem that different people on here all have different ideas as to how the tax credit should be treated. I agree that no tax has been paid by an individual directly on the share dividend, but some tax will have been borne by the company, as parsnips pointed out in the past. So personally I am applying the full 17.7%. This means that social charges will be paid on the tax credit, but a tax credit will be given against your French income tax, I think!

Well, I was wondering where box 8VL had gone on the 2047, last year it was under box 2DC in section 2, but now I see that is has moved to section 7, I certainly did not fill out anything in section 7 last year, if indeed it existed, and everything was accepted.Could somebody please confirm that I am interpreting things correctly. Like John I have been using the 17.7% tax credit every year, and every year it has been accepted without any trouble by the tax office. So now with the section 7 that I am now confronted by is this correct?Plus-Values et Revenus de Capitaux Mobiliers:The actual dividend totalRevenu Avant Déduction de L'Impôt Étranger:The actual dividend total + the 17.7%Impôt Payé à L'Étranger:The 17.7% tax credit, which then generates the figure in box 8VL automaticallyStill confused about box 206. Each year I have left the box blank, which then generates the 17.7% tax credit in box 207, after completing boxes 203-205. If I enter 0 in box 206 as suggested in this thread, the computer accepts this as the smaller amount, and the whole tax credit is wiped out, thus no 17.7% tax credit. So when 0 is mentioned does this mean to leave the box blank?Only one to go, should I be going anywhere box 276 which reads: Crédit d'impôt égal à l'impôt étranger sur revenus exonérés des impatriés À reporter au cadre 7, and enter the tax credit figure in there as well? In previous years I have never put anything in this box, or is this a new box for this year?Sorry if all the above seems a bit dim, but with all the changes to the tax form this year to take into account, I have been getting a bit stressed out about things this year.

Thanks for that mint. I knew that income tax and social charges had been lumped together, and were payable in advance, depending on the payment plan that had been selected. So I really do not know why they have not taken the social charge element of this years tax/social charges in advance like everybody else seems to have had.It definately states votre taux personnalisé est actuellement de 0.0% on our online account. I really do not know what on earth is going on, looks like an e-mail to the tax office is in order.

Thank you all for your replies.From all the information provided I now have a clearer understanding as to why no tax has been taken, I think!Firstly, the tax office has our bank details, even when declaring on paper, I paid the bills online. I have looked at last years final tax bill, and as pomme pointed out it states the 'taux pour le foyer' which is showing 0% (must learn to read everything that comes from the tax man in future)! The reason for no French income tax being due, is because the UK tax credit from last year wiped out any French income tax due.This still throws up one query, even though no income tax is due in advance, why has no social charges been taken in advance as in previous years? Although I must admit if the tax man is happy with the situation then so am I.

As it is now 'that time of year' I have just realized that we have not paid an installment of our 2019 income tax, usually we receive the first bill in February. I have looked at our online account and no tax payment demand is showing. I realized that tax is now being taken at source for the French, and to be honest I am not quite sure as to what happens about us étrangers, I thought things were to be unchanged for us, due to the source of our income. Have I not done something that I should have and registered something with the nice tax man?Any help would be gratefully received before the gendarmes come and kick the door down.

Well, Mr Bercow is playing a blinder for us 'Remoaners', it's a good job that somebody is, as sadly we cannot rely on Corbyn, Vince Cable means well, but hmm...This afternoon he announced again in parliament that May cannot try again with her meaningful vote without any substantial changes. As it is only the date that has changed, so not substantial enough for JB?Hilariously this could now leave the DUP and the Brexiteers high and dry, and having to accept a soft Brexit, no Brexit, a very long extension or any other version in between rather than jumping off the cliff, as they prefer. Priceless. Now that May has stated she will stand down if her deal passes through the commons, and one can only assume that a hardliner will take over, will this make the DUP less likely to vote for May's deal (assuming that one is allowed)? Turncoat Johnson has now stated that he will vote for it, even though he made some stupid statement like it being a suicide vest around Britain, and this man could be the next unelected tory PM, scary stuff.No doubt the weasel government will now be trying everything that they can to side step Bercow's ruling, even stooping so low as to making Queenie dissolve parliament and start a new session. But for now sit back and enjoy watching the Brexiteers shooting themselves in the foot.[:D]

Well Hoddy I would not believe everything that you read on Twitter, I personally never go near it myself.As an exercise I tried signing the petition again today using exactly the same information that I submitted yesterday, including the same e-mail address. Whilst I was able to get to the 'one more step' level, which instructs you to click on the link sent to you by e-mail, when the link showed up in my inbox, it stated that I had already used this e-mail to vote, and prevents you from voting again. I would not have voted again if the system allowed it, I consider myself above the lying politicians that led us into this mess.I guess that you could possibly use different e-mail addresses, if you really wanted to go to all the trouble of setting up various new addresses.I too would like to see the whole thing over, but not at any cost, and certainly not with a no deal exit, so I am prepared to wait for an orderly exit or retraction, however long that may take.
