1. i did it just recently, my boyfriend just started work in a very posh hotel and we went for him to sign his contract. he had previously told me off for not kissing people that he knows (apparently that gives me the right to kiss them?!) we met his manager, who he already knew as he worked there last year aswell, normally i wait to see how my bf is greeting people as to know what to do but as it was a man it didnt really help as they all shake hands here. so he shook his hand and i kissed him which he didnt seem too bothered by but i was then told by my bf that this was an awful thing to do and he could get into alot of trouble for it and i had surely caused offence! oops! so now i dont know what to do next time i see him cos im sure he will be thinking there is that rude english girl again, do i continue as i started or revert to a handshake?! oh how confusing!
  2. i hate all the kissing!! im not really a kissing kind of person and i find it even stranger kissing someone i barely even know! i dont mind when theres just a few people but as some others have said, when there is a whole family for example, you are there for about 5 minutes just with greeting them and its so tiring! whats wrong with a simple hello? why do they get so offended if u just say hi? i dont get it....
  3. thats mature!  and i happen to like bags of rancid fat and bread and crap go down quite well, i think im not the only one either. thank you for enlightening us all with that fascinating fact.
yeah why do they not have nice sausages here? we want sausages!!
What kind of sausage would you like Nico. The lovely [+o(] Walls bread and cr a p type or do you prefer the Too-loose all meat variety. I always used to look forward to our sausages here when we came on holiday over a 20 year period. Now we live it so love them all the time. As for chrisps, why not just eat a bag of rancid fat coated with salt, possibly with some potatoe scrapings in it for good measure. Or even prawn cocktail and have a good measure of E numbers chucked in for good luck? [+o(][+o(][+o(]

Now a bag of fritons, now yer talking. Duck scratchings, cooked in duck fat, yum, yum...[8-|]

P.S. Not sure about your boudin blanche Dick, but the local butcher does a wonderful boudin noir... I haven't tried the white, but I will and soon...

  4. i have just moved to france and was seeing a specialist in uk for a long term illness. i have applied for a mutuelle to cover my healthcare but am not sure when i will recieve the papers as proof. i have got a european health card from uk but with that i need to pay everything before and get reimbursed. i am going to need a through healthcheck so this is not viable as the cost is going to be huge and i cannot afford to pay it before. my problem is that i need to get to the hospital as soon as possible to get sorted as i am suffering waiting. does anyone have any ideas of how i can hurry things up abit? i cant go to the hospital until i recieve my papers for the mutuelle which should be next week but i am well aware that many french people do not rush themselves so im not holding my breath for it to be here then! if i just go to the emergency department will they see me or i will have to pay in advance?
