1. I just don't know Chancer as I really don't understand it. I'm hoping the promised letter will shed some light on it. The amount involved in my case is probably what Cameron and his cronies spend on a bottle of wine but its much more than that to us. I did find this on the web -  which seems to suggest I may have been overpaid [:-))]
2. Sorry Q, I missed that bit. Its Guaranteed Minimum Pension
3. Received notification that my Pension (NHS+OldAgePension) is to be reduced by £230 a year because of the introduction of GMP by the UK government. This may have been out a while but I knew nothing about it until today. The nice lady I contacted today said she would send me out some information on it - bit bloody late mate. Apparently they have 'cocked up' big time over this. They were forced into giving us 5.2% last year with the RPI so I guess it was only a matter of time before they clawed it back. and breathe.........................................
I've been giggling occasionally at the odious Mr Farage's pronouncements that his party "won't do a deal with the Tories" . No doubt Dave is quaking in his boots at the possibility of the balance of power being in Nigel's hands.
i think the guy is brilliant, a breath of fresh air in the European Parliament who speaks an awful lot of truth. Check this out from 2010 Totally correct prediction.
5. They are wood pigeons just had a closer look tonight. .
6. They look like pigeons but I couldn't get close enough to identify them. taken behind our house in Vienne 86 .
7. Just to finish this we bought a triple set of Gigaset A420A phones and they are brilliant. English language in the phones and English Manual off the internet. One point I'd not seen before though was this. Charge the batteries for 6 hours before use then leave the phones off their chargers until they go flat. After this you can use the chargers as normal. They have been off for four days now and are still fully charged.
8. We are looking to replace our current 3-phone setup and do not need an answer machine but would like english within its language choices. Any advice on makes welcome. thanks..............
9. +1 on that - with all the bad stuff going on in life today its nice to hear of such acts of real kindness.

12. Typical cr*p from someone who should know better. He would do well, along with a lot of politicians, to consider this. London isn't England just as Paris isn't France. .

22.
In much of the Islamic world, religion is used as a method of maintaining power over a subservient population. Much as it was when the Inquisition was used to keep Christians in order. Any religion which cannot tolerate critical examination of itself is not worth the space it occupies. Nor is any religion which blackmails critical non-adherents into supine silence.
Better not mention Catholicism then [:P][:)]
23. Yes but innocent people still end up dead. Just a stupid thing to do in todays climate and done only to sell a few extra mags and provoke a response. I don't BTW in any way condone those actions of a few fanatics but am wise enough to know what will happen. Religion, you can keep it.
24. I wonder if he will accept responsibility for the deaths that inevitability follow these sort of actions these days.
