  1. Hi Peppa

I presume that you already have the Class 1 license (you should have that to serve tea/codde or orange juice).

You just take that in to the local douanes and ask for a Class 2 - which is all you need to serve alcoholic drinks with a meal (ie. beer, wine etc)

But to sell alcohol you need a different sort of license and from what we have ben told to go on a course and pass a written exam.

If you haven't already got your class one, go to your local Mairie and ask for one, they usually do this on.

  2. Hey JK.... why worry it least it was only a couple of puffs - wasn't the whole cig! Go to bed, wake up in the morning - its another day.

Just take one day at a time, you'll get there!

(5 weeks, 4 days - but whose counting??)

  3. Hi Folks

Yep, still hanging in there!! - Not been on line, been busy!

Yes, there are times when I could kill for that cig....especially as my little one has just asked if Mummy is going to have a baby!! - Put on quite a tumy all ready.  Probably 'cos I don't stop easting!!   know that will settle down, wish it would happen soon though!

Sounds like everyone is doing really well!

Don't know how to set up another account though JK...its as easy doing it this way! (Totally computer illiterate!)

Roll on Christmas and New Year with more money to spend and better health!

  4. Well Done JK - I gave up on 19th Sept had to go into hospital - good excuse as any to set a date.

Given up once before for 5 years - had 1 cig on a night out from work and that was it!! Even though OH hates smoking and I had to smoke outside!! Smoked outside for 6 years - in all weathers!

Now nearly 5 weeks down the road, some days are easier that others and I can eat...and eat....and eat!Come on Chris, if I can do it anyone can!!

    Jo (mark's OH!)

  5. Hi Folks, just had a very polite e-mail from Mr Roland Collins of Polar ex Travel Agency (Middlesex branch), wantingto book all our rooms with everything paid up front by Cashier Check.

Did a quick google check and found someone else complaining on another b&B forum Site.

Just in case anyone else gets one.

  6. Hi Bob

We have a B & B and have been up and running since September last year.  We also have a 6 year old.  We have no problems with him or the guests - even when he decided to throw up in the corridor just as some guests were going to bed!!  Everyone just accepts the fact.  He probably has a better equipped bedroom than most 6 year olds! but he knows that the time he comes home from school its homework time whilst I get the finishes done for the evening meal - any free time on Wed, Sat and Sun goes on him.  We manages about one trip out per week in the holidays (which is more than we used to do in the UK with 2 of us working!)

He loves meeting people, if they have children, then its a bonus...........otherwise he loves the freedom of being able to run around a very large garden or having his quad out with Dad there to supervise rather than being away all week and shattered at the weekend.

Good Luck - children adapt very quickly with some simple ground rules and if they are anything like mine - enjoy meeting people from different places and learning a lot of geography (the map book is always on hand to see where other people live!)

  7. Many thanks for the replies!!

Yes, we googled and couldn't find anything!

Yes, they asked to pay by credit card...I answered the e-mail with the fact that we don't take credit cards and that if they wished to talk terms, we would call them if they gave a telephone number.  Needless to say, we haven't heard anything since!!

The way it was written, I would have thought they were American - or at least that was how it was worded, if you know what I mean.

Thank you very much for your help,

    Jo

  8. Hi Bugbear

Yes, the circuit is fantastic!!  So is the 'Hardest Enduro Race in Europe', held in October right on our doorstep!!  If you get down this way or need B& B for the next weekend, pm me for the web site!

    Cheers
