We have now found our holiday farmhouse in the South of France

hi looking for a gite holiday for 1 week at the end of October
in brief our requirements accomadation for 2 adults & 5 children ( aged 3 to 16)
plenty to entertain the children ( on site or nearby) pool would be great, fishing football etc
anywhere considered south of Normandy.

if you are interested in the french market cap location is inexpensive less than 50 eurs a year & generates 90 % of our business in august
your local office de tourisme is a good starting point too
we have had good results from perfect places BUT our website is generating most business at the moment

Do you have to registar to acept these and if so via who?

I have received for the first time Livret Vacances for my children
I am not quite sure how to utilise the coupons supplied but we would like to use them for a family holiday in October ( gite or Chambres d'hotes)
We would like to holiday south of Normandy
Do any gite owners on this site accept these vouchers ?

our requirements are for a family of 7 2 adults and children aged 3,6,14,15, & 16

I posted by website as Cassis as for info didnt know correct forum etiquette - sorry!
As Cassis says hardly worth advertsing on a forum for gite holders just good to exchange ideas & as some guests travel across normandy & ask for a nice B&B it would be nice to pass people on if possible

Hi again we do have & will continue to have paid listings
at present we have french & english/american sites
the french site has brought us 95% of our business ( mainly french & belgium guests) but we would like to attract other nationalities due to different holiday periods

it is really good to get feed back- friends & family like it but their opinion tends to be biased
i must add this was a stressful process working on the text & photos for 10 days but well worth it
the problem i have found on paid listings is that the set up doesnt suit our accomadtion i;e endlass tick boxes for sauna indoor heated poll etc square meterage of rooms!
A individual website is more personnal- we will just have to see what potentail guests think

site has only be running for a few days so still a few adjustmants to be made especially on french translation
the site was introduced to google on tuesday i have sumbitted to other search engines today ( thanks cassis)
we only have 2 pictures on each page so that the pages dont look too busy
re tarifs for evening meals these can change ( want to reduce site maintenance costs) plus we do have seasonal offers too
most guests tend to book evening meal without asking the price but we always offer this to guests who make a booking & quote tarifs then

well i have taken your advise and we have just had our website designed
we are really pleased with the results especially as it is in english & french

Some recommendations from other gite or B&B owner would be nice!
we are located in South Manche near to Le Mont St Michel & therefore have alot of summer business but alot of competition as well!
we feel a website would promote us better as we also run a small farm & our guests have loved seeing our baby goats ducklings & piglets.

Hello everyone
we have just started up a B&B in Normandy & have a village cottage for summer rental
we have had a very busy July & August of mainly french guests
We are now wondering whether having our own website would widen our market & increase business for the following year.
I was hoping that fellow gite owners could offer advise as to whether internet advertising on holiday sites is sufficient or whether personnel websites create more business.
We have had a very positive response from our guests & it has been suggested that having our own website would promote our accomadation more effectively.
If anyone can recommend a good web design company this would be most appreciated plus information on set up costs site maintenance etc thanks

Just in the process of updating our website & wondered whether its time to increase our prices
We have been running our B&B for 2 years with no increases but when is the right time to ask for a little more?
We have had a good summer & been told that we offer excellent value for money
How do you decide when its time to increase your prices?
