  3. We are thinking of moving to France but our son has just been diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome, he will need medical support such as physio, occupational and speech therapy and will need to go to a special needs school for learning difficulties.  Does anyone have any advice they could give us, ie. do you think we are mad to contemplate it, our knowledge of french is not good! Are there anyother families out there who have children with this syndrome in France?
  4. Thanks for the new number, will give it a go...... Derkins

  15. Regading location, apart from close to transport links, tourist attractions, restaurants, shops etc, is there anything else that is really important?
  16. From your experiences, what are the top 5 requirements for a successful gite complex?
  17. Thanks to all those who have emailed me, I am stunned to see how many gites there are for sale, is there something I don't know - why is everyone selling up - is it a bad time to be buying one??
  18. Is there anyone selling their gite complex privately? We are looking for a 4 bed family house plus 2 or 3 gites in a good non isolated location between Limoges and Toulouse. Let me know if you are selling....
  19. Thanks for your feedback, I'm glad to hear positive things about Limoges, most agents slag it off for being too wet and damp and out of the hub.  We are coming to visit the area more soon so will be looking at gite properties for sale, I agree having people in your house day and night will soon start to grate, at least gites is only one day a week to work....
  20. Thanks guy and gals for your comments, definately food for thought! We don't have a mortgage and would prefer to swop our 3 bed house in the UK for something nicer with a better quality of life (ie. seeing each other during the day) therefore running gites would be something to keep our brains going and to help us pay the running costs.  So it sounds as if this would be perfect for us.  I am new to this forum and can see I will learn alot from all your experience!  Next step find an area that would suit us & the business - off to search the web again!
  21. Thats helpful, we are thinking of moving near to Jumilhac, anyone in this area who could let me know what its like living there day to day?
  22. We are thinking of moving to the Dordogne, some agents have told me this week to avoid it like the plauge as too many english, oversaturated market and prices are starting to fall as the english are moving back to UK - is this really true???
  23. Whats the weather like in that area, is it damp and wet like some agents have told me?
