Hi all, am thinking of starting a mobile hairdressing business, but dont know where to start, so thought i would ask. 1. Who do i have to see first. 2. Where would i register the business. 3. Would my diplomas be recognized over here. I have been a hairdresser for 23 years, and ran a business in England for 20 years, did not think i wanted to do it anymore, but had 6 months off  so getting abit itchy to do something.

Can anyone tell me if edf have English phone line, my friend needs to phone them, lucky for me, my French friend does mine ha ha.   The reason i said you could hit me, was because I know you will have been asked this Question a thousand time [:D], so start hitting after you have told me.

My thoughts! We sold everything in England, got in a van and drove to France. 1. We had never been to France before.[8-)] 2. No i am not young, in my fourtys.[:P] 3. Came on here, before we came, and everyone thought i was mad.[blink] 4. Cried my eyes out for 2 days before arriving (leaving family behind).[:'(] 5. Never looked back, love it here. Go on just do it, take a chance, life is to short not to.[kiss]

I clean my floors, well once a week anyway [;-)]. I dont really know where i go, friends, shopping, lunch and the pub. Im now a lady that lunches ha ha, well forget the lady bit. I paint the house, put new doors in, and by the time i finished all that i very tired, but promise to come on more x.

Floors to clean, well yes once a week, if their lucky [;-)]. Some times i go the pub [B], or out for lunch with friends (ha ha turning into a lady that lunchs), erm friends for coffee, oh and of course shopping. I do work as well honest [6], painting the house, putting new doors in, oh and my most pleasent past time, filling forms in [8-)].

I hate to say this, but i am out all the time, and having the time of my life, (and no i dont mean drinking all the time [:)]). Oh yes and the visitors, oh how i love having them [+o(]. Funny that, mmm now thats when i do tend to drink, (decided it was better to drink than scream). But hey, look on the bright side, i love my neighbours xxxxxxxxxxxxxx[6]

OH DEAR, Just thought i would look in and came across all this! Wow, this is strong stuff. Too many English,too many French, too many People, and i would not dare to think what some people would say if a guy person moved in. People are people, if they good neighbours, they good people, (is that not correct). We moved into a hemlet, 1 French, 1 rented, 1 English and us, where is the problem. Ok our French could be better, but our French neighbour says hello, asks how we are, and even dare i say it, nodded to my husband to give him a helping hand with his 1 dead ewe. Rented people moved in, and yes very nice too. English couple seem fine, (have we just been lucky). The local village is mixed, but we all get along fine, ok there are some English i dont like, but thats normal, and i dare say there are going to be some French people i dont like, but i bet there are going to be some people that dont like us, (i think that is called village life). Still i guess its got us all talking x

I can see your point Tresco, but i do love them really [8-)], I just dont love them in my home, so I thought putting them in an extension, with their own tv, shower, beds and kitchen would be alot easyier on all of us. Going out today to try and get some chickens, veg garden in, turning into the GOOD LIFE, oh and pets so far, dog, bird and 2 rats. Dont think i brought a farm opps [:D].

Hi Russethouse, been in the new home since january, it took a week to get the water put on, how i must have smelt [;-)]. We have only just sorted the elec out, we brought of mr _______, and his brother lives across from us, and they kept getting his home to change into our name, oh the head ache. So far we had 3 lots of visitors, i have to say glad to see the back of 2 of them, strange, they come over and take over your home. we just put some plans in to put gite into the garage at the side of the house, i can throw them in there then, and maybe they will buy their own food, and do their own cleaning. Bet they still dont offer anything for elec petrol ect. Oh i sound really boring and nasty, opps i love them really honest [:'(].

hi how is everyone doing? Just managed to get on the internet, been very busy. Oh my god, the paper work for changing the car to french plates.[+o(] Oh my god, the phone calls to get electricity in our name.[8-)] Oh my god, the paper work for the guns, and now we find out my hubby has to take written and oral exam in french, (wondering if we can take french friend to help [:)]). But still loving it here xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [:D]

Dont worry about the boiler, its being ripped out, no way would i risk that old thing being ok. And as for the price, i did knock them down, im English, no way would i pay full price, Ha Ha. It does need work doing on it, we had someone come and look over it and make a list of what needs doing, so we got our eyes wide open. Actually the down stairs is ok, its the loft that needs the work, but nothing we cannot sort out. We have never spent a winter in France, but we enjoying it so far, infact never laughed so much. He He we never spent a summer, spring or any season in France, (this is where you all think im stupid), infact we never even been to France before we came over this time. What can i say, i fell in love with the place, and the people are great, will never go back to England to live, well unless im made to ha ha .

Well my husband would move straight in, but its only got a kitchen sink, so i think he will have to wait awhile. Julie, who we rent off, has become a really good friend, says we can move in with her, just for a few weeks, so might do that. Mind you it has got a bath, but then again its got a really old oil boiler, and you can smell oil when you go in [+o(], but the French people who we buying off says its been serviced every year.  Ha Ha just read all that, how confused am i, as you can see cannot make my mind up [8-)]. I phoned DHS yesterday, about this E106, because we where self employed the year ends April - April, so because we stopped work in August they will only give us 1 year. 20 years self employed and i only get 1 year, what a rip off [:@]. Bet its going to cost us a furtune in 2008 for health ins, the nasty people. Well we back in France Wednesday, cannot wait, god the traffic in England, it takes me 20 mins do 1 mile [:(]. Well its in area 56, and i guess its like a farm house. The downstairs has living room, kitchen, bathroom, 2 bedrooms and 2 other smaller rooms. The loft is massive, with 2 windows, and it already has a stairs and concreate floor, so we just have to plaster and wire. Its really nice [:D], (well i would say that ha ha). Not been on for a while, because where we are staying her computor broke [:(], so had to wait for someone to repair it. Photos, got loads, mind you we visit everyday, how sad are we. On second thoughts dont answer that.[;-)]

Well im in England this week, god how boring. I have run round trying to see everyone,(how come you have to go to them, because they have not got the time, but then sulk if you dont). Its freezing here, will be glad to get back. The house goes through on the 15th of Jan, cannot wait to get started. Oh yes i start French lessons when i get back, god knows what she will think about my spelling [8-)]. Made some new friends [:D], and yes i am still loving it. speak with you soon xxxxx

Sad about them going, i think not. They where a nightmare[:@]. They didnt like our friends[8-)], they didnt like Josslin[8-)], infact they didnt like anything. The only place they wanted to go was Paris, and when i said i didnt, i think they sulked, god dont you just love family [+o(]. Any way on a lighter note, guess what, we buying a house, sign for it on Tues[:D]. Bet you lot think im wind you up, but i not, its true.
