1, male dog wee (yes it is hard to collect)(and it really spooks your dog) but it has worked for me.........
2, a strange cigar shaped thing, that rivbrated and whined which was stuck in to the earth hill, we brought this in a garden center and the battery lasts for months, again it spooks your dogs out............

possibly that book is talking about the good old days when french ladies were slim, and english men had stiff upper lips. I SAID UPPER LIPS
and children behaved them selves and you could get a few pints and fish and chips on the way home and still have change from a pound.

when we had the new kitchen built, I had a large cupboard built under the stairs to house all his tools, shed keys, matches ,lightbulbs and all those boys toys things, I spend my entire time going behind him picking up things he has left lying around and putting them back in the cupboard, but still every day its "Wheres my..............." "In the cupboard sweetheart"................ 5Mins later "I cant see it" so i get up look and lo and behold its in the cupboard. so not only is my O H forgetful but blind too. Now what was I doing before I sat down to look at this forum.................

fish in the wild will jump out of the water when being chased by a bigger predator, is it possible the other fish might of been seen (on mass) as a larger fish if they were swimming around together? or maybe he just wanted to go home to his pals ?

Can any one tell me the difference btween a frog and newt tadpole? I have lots of different tadpoles in my pond different sizes and colour, we have newts and frogs so some must be the babies of each ?

Thanks April for that one it looks very nice (just trying to find it on my map) has anyone tryed Les Pailhes Hotel resturant? In pradelles cabardes it looks nice on there web site any idea about the food? It is in walking distance of the house we are bying (not that i have ever seen it while we were there) but that might be a good idea after a couple bottles of wine.........................

yes it was the intermarche i meant and we also thought it was the best one we had tried, and I think I may have already found that chocolate shop Mmmmmmmmm I shall certainly try the other places you have mentioned. Im looking forward to have a relaxed day exploring carcassonne as everytime we were there we seemed to be rushing from one office to another, but we did have a nice cuppa coffee on the square at carnot place.
I cant wait to get my keys only 8 weeks ...................

I have tried emailing the mairie to introduce us to him, as we are currently buying a house, but we have had no reply, now either my french was so bad he was insulted or hes just rude and isnt interested in english people moving into his village. I only did it because my brother told me to, he gets on let a house unfire with his in his village, but then he always takes a bottle of wine with him when he goes to see him (maybe thats where you are going wrong) dont let him see you are upset, keep smiling at him and take him a bottle it may works wonders
Hope things get better for you soon, and dont give anyone any money till there a lawyers letter................

We are coming to stay near carcassonne in august to finalise the bying of our house, in the same week it will also be my husbands birthday.
I would love to take him for a special meal, He likes good fish/ seafood meals and loves chateau villerambert moureau (minervois) wine. he likes to sit outside to eat and is even happier if there is a view of water to look at, can anyone sugest a good place between carcassonne and mazamet or surrounding area that i could take him to, maybe on the canal du midi? He likes quite places (no loud music) and a place which has friendly staff who will putup with our alwful french. somewhere special for my special man please..................

We have a mouse who lives in the stone wall behind the pond, each day he comes down the wall stops for a drink at the pond under a few plants till he gets to the base of the bird table where he gathers up the food dropped by the birds. I love to watch him and hes a big help keeping that area clean otherwise the seeds would grow. I have always fancied a rat but i have 2 cats so it wouldnt be fair. but i do have a headge hog at the bottom of the garden. i would be more than happy to see more mice in my garden, as long as they stay out of the veggies

Chris why dont you do a forum vote on a name for him (i think its a boy to) why dont you take a peek and check out his sex.
My vote is woolley in memory of the 2 lambs that will cheer the boys up.
Im glad your a softy there should be more of us my self and hubby between us have had about 22 cats during our marriage most of whom have sadley passed away now or are OAPs sleeping on the end of my bed, its been a long time since i had a little kitten ................
