Hi
We are doing ok on just on 1000 euros a month. We have left some capital in store so to speak for emergencies. We are just sorting out the Healthcare top up which I hope I have assessed at roughly the correct amount. What I really wrote to say was we are so relaxed away from the stress of the grind, we feel safe and secure and are finding so many different things to fill our time with we have not worried about money at all.
My partner was totally unsure about living in France because we had really good jobs and a good life there but with loads of stress. He has been here just over 6 months and I think you would have to drag him screaming back to the UK.
We are just about to start growing our own produce which will make a difference to the food bill. There are only the two of us and the dogs and we eat and drink well and go out for meals (albeit not expensive like we used to when working).
I am sure there will be downsides to come, I have some more pension and the state pension to pick up in about 4 years so I am hoping by the time kicks in it will top up any shortfall/rises in inflation we may be feeling.
Hope all goes well

Try La Flamanderie in Peuplingues, near Coquelles ( I think thats the spelling). It is 5 mins drive from tunnel entrance and probably 20mins from ferry port. Natalie is the owner and there are about 5 /6 en suite rooms and you have your breakfast in your room complete with Fridge and cooker if you require. Its spotlessly clean, private parking, she is very flexible about your arrival, will take English money. We have been going there for about three years or so. I think its 45/50 euros per room and my friend stayed with one child and no extra charge for the camp bed. Its brilliant for an overnight shopping trip and there is a great restaurant about 3 miles away in Escalles called Restaurant Du Cap.

Hope this helps

Hi,
We have done allsorts of alterations on our owners club tickets (usually at the last minute) and never had a problem.
I have never had anything but good service from Eurotunnel and always found them very obliging.
Hope this helps allay some fears -
Try the Hotel de France, in Montmorillon. The rooms are modern and clean but the food in the restaurant is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable for food of such quality.

We have visited the Lac a number of times both in and out of season. There is a great little cafe/restaurant overlooking the lake by the sailing club which sells good food at reasonable prices. Its run by three maturish ladies who really look after you. I understand its a great area for ramblers as well.
We have a holiday home in La Trimouille quite near you and it takes us about 45/55 mins to get there. We often visit Gargliesse which is an historic town of France and quite lovely. It has a nice restaurant called the George Sands and a Logis as well.
Are you permanent in St. Gaultier? We are contemplating the permanent move to La Trimouille in the very near future.

Hi
Sorry to trouble you but I read with interest your post and was very interested in the kennels. I have used two different ones and have been totally happy but they are just two far away to keep taking regularly.
We live near Montmorillon so Lussac is perfect for us. I wondered if you could send me the telephone number I have tried yellow pages but just cant seem to get a number.
I just have one question if you wouldnt mind ...what exercise policy do they have or do they have an exercise area.
Many thanks in advance for your help
Regards
